Have Gates Kevlar and Bando they are great, but so what, I want to see who has the best cheap belt. I got a ZIJINGANG from ebay $6.78 699x18x30. Smells like rubber. Will put it on today and see. Been running a ZHUPING for 700 miles and seems good. I ordered from Hong Kong a $3.96 CAS (cheap as chit) no name belt and I can't wait to see how long it will last. What do you know, R U running cheap belts Too.

Uh,no. My first belt was a Zhuping and it lasted 2400 miles. I replaced it with a Gates and at 7400 miles it's working just fine. That would be two more Zhupings or three total if I stayed on the "Cheap Wagon". Not worth it when a good belt only adds ten dollars to the bill and last at least twice as long.

2400 miles on the Zhuping. That's not bad. Did it grow thinner over time then schread. Or did it snap.

i think i'm out of place here, but nevertheless i wanna answer your question. bought this belt for $120 lasted me 16k miles, it didn't break,i just replaced it,but if i push it more it can still last for another 16k miles. shyet! on the label it says Yamaha Genuine Parts.... with emphasis on the word "Genuine" and below the label it says made in, uhm you know where!! always the best.

No, it didn't shread, it stretched-alot. So bad in fact that it starting to hit the top of the variator cover. $120 ?? for a belt. Seriously? My last O-ring chain cost $90. The original lasted 19,000 miles. My wife's chain on the Rebel hasn't been adjusted yet and it has 8,300 miles on it. What's your last name Luke? Vanderbilt??

i told you its genuine, and what is $120, just nothing....and as jct once said and i quote " i'm not stupid enough to use scooter parts that i don't trust" ( something to that effect) LOL.
my thinking in life: anything that is cheap is no good.

I would not want to be doing 80mph and loose a belt....Maybe motor too.... Better put something you can trust on it.... Honda made in Japan...

I said tires luke, a belt that takes a dump is not likely to kill you. If there had been a choice like a bando or gates when I bought one of them yamaha belts I would have bought some thing else believe me. $120 is a discount price and still at least double what that crap from yamaha is worth comparing to other brands. Jap stuff is so over rated it is not funny, yea it might be a tad better but the prices are insane.

Have to also remember a lot of the stuff that says made in japan is actually made in CHINA. They do the same thing as everyone is doing looking for the cheapest way to have things made and done. It is all about the mighty buck. Alleyoop

Genuine Yamaha Part. Seriously? You know it's a Bando. Yamaha doesn't spend time or money developing a belt. They design an engine around what's available. If you could buy a Gates belt the result would be the same. A mildly tuned single cylinder engine isn't hard on its belt. A Morphous isn't a Honda CBR-250 Luke.
Plus, I don't care what it is. The more times you tear into something the more chance there is for stripped bolts, mistakes and damaged parts. I've had bolts strip on Japanese stuff, cars included. A good belt like a Gates Powerlink helps reduce the chance of disaster.
