If I had to remove all that stuff just to adjust the valves, I would junk it.... I just looked at that video and it would cost a pretty penny to hacve it done in a shop. I do the Magnum in just a few minutes, no panels but the one screw under the seat and your on top of the intake and the exhaust is just reach up under and go to it. Now the Honda Reflex is one screw and open a the hatch and all done on the side of the motor is just 5 minutes or less.

Go by my settings 18mm is HUGE he maybe meant to say 8mm for the top which is .004 inchs and bottom exhuast 10mm which is .005 inchs. He was probably nervous he is not a professional movie star(HAHA).
TOP INTAKE .004 INCHS and BOTTOM EXHAUST .005 inchs and you will be fine. Alleyoop

Is the timing a must? I mean if I can get away with not messing with the timing it sure would make my journey tomm easier.

Because you have never done them, YES IT IS CRITICAL you set the timeing at TOP DEAD CENTER ALIGN THE MARKS so that the ROCKERS ARE OFF THE HIGH LOBES ON THE CAM. Then you can adjust the valves. Otherwise if you set them, they it may not be at TOP DEAD CENTER and you may damage the motor. Alleyoop
