I just read about your moped having slow takeoff issues and from what your saying it seems that your CDI might be set to a backed off timing if it's an adjustable one. Sometimes before a CDI goes they can act that way but it depends on a few things, One of which may be due to valve timing or even to much fuel from the carb. Carefully take it apart and clean it all out with WD40 and soak all the parts in a tub of it, then check to make sure there is no gunk or sediment built up on the needle of the float vale, if there is sediment then i am willing to bet you might not be getting the right fuel mixture. If it's all clean and i mean the whole carb then make sure the throttle valve and diaphragm are intact and not cracked. if that does not help get back at me here or one of the other scooter guy's. ask others for advice to. Best of luck.

I agree with Phildoe, clean the carb with attention to the low speed jet. That controls the take off fuel supply.

It is your SMALLER REAR SPROCKET that is causing the DOG start up, you have it geared for TOP END SPEED and you went to small on the rear sprocket which will cause very slow take offs. To pull very tall gearing the motor has to have a lot of power.
Now you could get some better pull IF you go up on the front Sprocket(More Teeth) but on those mopeds you can only go up 1 -2 teeth more on a sprocket because the casing around the Front Sprocket will not allow a bigger sprocket to fit.
Some have even ground down the casing around the front sprocket to be able to fit a bigger sprocket.
Tell me what size Sprocket(TEETH) was on the rear and what size(TEETH) you dropped down to. Alleyoop
