Guys, I've got a problem on my 50CC Carb. When the scooter is running the vent tube on the side of the carb is dripping gas out of it. Well it's more like spewing it out. I know its supposed to be a drain but should the one pictured that is circled in red be plugged or connected to something? I've looked all over the scooter but cannot seem to find a place to plug it up to. Any help would be appreciated. MP Attachments:

That is the Carbs Vent and Overflow tube. Your carb is flooding, the shut off valve that the FLOAT pushs up is not shutting off the fuel from coming in when the Carb bowl is full. It is either stuck open or dirty and not sealing. You will have to take the carb and bowl off to clean it and or adjust. Alleyoop

Alleyoop, thank you for the response. I'll search you-tube for a good video in taking off the carb. I'm looking at it now and the job does not seem to terrible. Thank you again for the response.

All you have to do is Loosen the clamp holding the car to the Intake manifold and then loosen the Clamp holding the Air Filter Tube to the carb. Then Loosen The top nut holding the throttle cable and push it forward and get the Lead ball out of the Throttle Wheel. Take off the Fuel hose and the ACV Vacuum hose off and that is it. Alleyoop

This man has some very good videos on scooters.
I had the same issue on my 50cc scooter with gas coming out the carb overflow tube but it would happen when the engine was shut off. I took the carb off & it was very clean inside, float level and needle valve looked good. I checked the vacuum fuel valve in the line with a vacuum gauge & it was good. Scooter was only 6 months old & driven often. Obviously, the carb was flooding but the engine ran fine. Baffled, i reassembled it & the issue still happened. My solution was to stick a golf tee in the hose & elevate it above the level of the carb. Been driving it for 8 months now like that.

Dippy51, thank you for that. It answered my next question, which was the float adjustment and the video covered perfectly. Any tips you guys use to adjust the float would be much appreciated as well. If you look closely at the picture I put a tee in it as well but I'm going to try the adjustment and see what happens.

Here is how to adjust the float: To test it put a hose on the fuel inlet of the carb and blow into the hose and gently push on the float to move the Valve up and see if it closes the fuel inlet. If it does you blowing into the fuel inlet no air will come out. Alleyoop
