I been using 87 octane Regular in my (2) 50cc scooters for 3 years without any ill effects. Never yet heard any pinging. After driving it for awhile, i noticed a small sticker by the gas cap that said to use no lower than 90 octane, but since i had already driven it with a lower grade i continued. One scooter has 7K miles and the other has 5K. And this is in a mountainous region with many hills.

In 41 years, i have never had anyone tell me to not bring my helmet into a business. I cringe at the riders who leave their helmet without any locking device on their ride. Many get stolen around here if left behind. I even take my backpack into stores. Some stores i will leave it at the front desk to pick up on the way out, other places likes Sams Club i put it in the buggy & open it for inspection when leaving. Only once upon entering did the Sams employee require me to leave it with her.
Once i got lax in 2012. I left my backpack under the seat of my 50cc scooter when shopping at the Big Lots store because i didn't want to chance being hassled about carrying it inside the store. The scooter was stolen even tho secured with a stout lock & cable to a parking lot stanchion in front of all the cashier windows in front of store. The thiefs coasted it down the hill into a bank parking lot to load it up into a pickup. A LEO happened to be near and they took off, leaving the scooter. I had my checkbook & cell phone in the pack. What was i thinking ! Now the check book stays home, a major hassle if i had to cancel my credit union account with all the automatic payments & direct deposit of my pension.

Tires

I'm running 3.50-10 on my 50cc scooter instead of the 3.00-10 that came on it. Have 4000 miles/kilometers (i don't know what the odomater reads in) on it now with no problems. My scooter is similar to the TaoTao and some of them come with the 3.50 tire. As long as it has clearance i don't see a problem.

I had an experience with scooterpartsplace.com about a year ago. Ordered some items and never got any acknowledgement via email nor delivery of the order. After 10 days i emailed them, saying i hadn't received the order and asking did i need to order elsewhere. Shortly thereafter, i got an email that my order was cancelled without any apology or reason given.
They did me a favor. After that, I found partsforscooters.com, got my parts from them quickly and continue to patronize them for their excellent prices & service.

is.gd/Bybs6GThe Library section near the bottom of the Home page might be helpful to you. If the battery has been sitting a long time, it's sulphated up & won't hold a charge. I charge up batteries at least every 30 days to prevent that happening. If gas was left in the scooter, the carb is likely gummed up and will require dis-assembly to clean.

I bought the mini-HF Tire Changer last year at the local Harbor Freight for $40 here in Asheville, NC. I intend to use it this year after mounting it to a pallet. Youtube has many videos how to use it.
I've always changed tires with tire irons manually on a rubber mat on the ground. Getting too old for that.
Leave tires out in the sun for a couple hours to make them more pliable to mount & demount. I also use diluted dish washing liquid soap for mounting.
