Actually if you turn it all the way closed it should kill the motor. And since it is not and nothing changes in either direction something is not right with that carb or you missed something. The carbs are very simple really there are only a couple things to go wrong did you change any of the jets by any chance or did you buy it used from someone etc.. But yea get a new carb, go on Ebay you can pick one up for $30 or less. They are all China carbs so find the cheapest one you can find the same size as you have. They can range from 20 bucks on up it all depends on the seller. Alleyoop

The bike is used, the carb looks like it was messed with before I got it because the pilot jet screw driver slot was a little mangled. Ill order a new carb and see what happens

So I got my new carb ordered. I got a real kei hin, which is supposedly better. those are the carbs I had on my little cb360 cafe racer. its probably exactly the same as the rest of the chinese carbs, but hopefully this one works. Is there any chance its an electrical issue? cdi or coil.. timing?

i'm on the fence as to weather or not something is askew with mine. it doesn't help that it sat fora year and after getting it all back together all i had was 87-89 octane to fill it up with.
some times it bogs and stalls out when going up hill, some times the idle varies, one time i might crack open the throttle real fast and the idle will drop 2k, the next time it might drop 2.5k.
sorry if i'm thread jacking.

That is just fuel delivery problem, I could be to much fuel or not enough fuel. So first try turning the fuel ratio mixture screw 1/4 turn COUNTER CLOCKWISE and crack open the throttle and see if it gets better or worse. If better then do 1/4 turns the same way to get the HIGHEST IDLE. IF WORSE then go CLOCKWISE. Alleyoop

That is great news, yea stock 50ccs you can expect 30 or so some may do 35 if for some reason the motor is a 63cc that they stuck in there. Alleyoop
