Need some advice guys. 1) Getting a hard "clunk" accompanied by shuddering from somewhere in the rear when the tranny engages. What's weird is that this basically goes away for the most part after riding awhile. It's not the rear caliper sticking, checked that. Any ideas what could be causing this? Not sure if this is related, but should the chain have a bit of play? Mine has none, it's very tight. 2) The trike has just over 100 miles on it. I changed the oil at 50 & will do it again at 150. At that time I will also change out the gear lube with 75W90 Mobil 1. I see there is a zerk fitting on the rear axle. What type of lube should I use for this? And how will I know when it's full, just keep pumping until no more goes in? It's been a long time since I've lubed a front end, but back then there was a rubber boot that expanded to let you know when to stop. Thanks in advance for any help. It's really a shame that the "Owners Manual" is a joke on these Chinese scoots. Thank God for sites like this! Tom

Welcome Tomcat, Good to have another 150 triker on board, I have had my 150 PST150H Trike since they first hit the shores back in MARCH of 2009. I love it just right for around here.
So a little info would help What Year and Model Trike do you have it is most likely just like mine they haven't really changed anything on except the body and how they look.
1. The Grease fitting on the Differential: Yes I got the small grease gun and small grease tubes they usually come in a package of 3s. Get the ones with the highest rated temps anything over 200 will do. Reason is the differential gears get hot and a low rated grease starts to turn to liquid and sips out and flings it all over the underneath. I put in grease until it stops taking it.
2. The Jumping and or Shuddering: a. Do you have a REVERSE on that Trike?
If so it needs to be adjusted it is NOT engaging fully in the FORWARD position. What needs to be done is GIVE the adjustment SOME SLACK. If you could take a picture of the REVERSE setup on yours I can tell you what to do.
b. The other thing it could be is one of your axles has moved out a little and the HUB that holds the wheel is slipping on the SPLINES on the AXLE. To check just grab the Castle Nut the nut with the cotter pin in it and try to turn it back and forth. If it moves the axle has moved out a little. Fix that right away otherwise the HUB SPLINES will get worn down really quick and you will need new HUBS.
To fix that you need to take the Castle Nut off and add a washer not to thick because then the Castle Nut Slots will not line up with the hole in the AXLE to insert the Cotter Pin. The Cotter pins can be gotten at any Hardware Store they have all kind of sizes so if you need some take one off and take it with you to match the size.
Also What I did is jack up the side and take the castle nut off and give the axle a nice little wack with a heavy hammer Not to hard just enough to push it back in and have the other end of the axle slots engage good on the into the Key Built into the Gears Sleeve inside the differential. Alleyoop

I have a similar problem with my trike. I figure it has to have something to do with the axle but idk It don't have reverse..it used to be really easy to roll frontward or backwards, but now it it really hard to roll and has a thump like a flat tire... Anyone have an idea what it could be?
