scootering is supposed to be a luxury not a neccesity, which means if you dont have money you have no right to ride a scooter
having a morphous as a scooter sometimes is not good, because my fixing knowledge is rusting out cause the morphous never had any mechanical issues.
Why Luke, don't worry. Servicing your variator and clutch every three weeks will keep you busy. Plus the upkeep on the trailer. And the car pulling the Morph. Plenty of uses for your tools. We're all here for advice if you get stuck. Remember the parts on your Morph are very similar in design to a Linhai Yamaha engine.

Mr. Alleyoop Sir; I would ask that from now on when Luke makes his unwarranted attacks they be moved to "Our" thread. In the future if he feels the need to make statements about Chinese scooters he can go to that thread, post a link to the thread he finds so offensive and make his comments. His statements on Chinese scooters, in my opinion, are designed solely to belittle owners of Chinese scooters and damage the integrity of this forum.
This place was quiet and peaceful while he was away and has now been turned into a War Zone again. He will then retain his First Amendment rights and be able to offer constructive advice where needed.
Telling people that only the well off can ride scooters is contrary not only to this forum but American ideals as well.
I ask that he only be more controlled in his statements. If not those statements should be relocated to our "Freak Show", as another admin so colorfully put it.
Thank You for your time and consideration.

That is the scooter I'm aiming for, they seem to get really good reviews over here. Only problem is, they're a lot of $$$$. Plus, I'd need a motorbike license to ride one and for that I can say goodbye to around $1000USD.

Yikes, er, Blimey! That's an awful lot of money to save gas, space and money. I thought it was bad $17.50 a year in registration and $30 in insurance for my 250cc.

The only thing a majesty might have over the vespa 300 is the top speed. I am sure the vespa would be a lot fast accelerating with the much lighter weight. And it is a real scooter to boot. It would be no trick at all to load a 50 lb sack of dogfood and a case of coke on to the floor board and ride the 5 miles home from the store. And 50 years from today when the great great grand kids get it out to ride they would have a nice antique just as a 50 year old vespa is today. And hopefully just as today's 50 year old vespas parts still available. Did I mention that yamaha does not even keep pistons in stock for a current model scooter?

whats wrong with the cheap scooters? I have a little Sunny 139qmb 50 cc scooter that I ride daily and am not afraid to ride 100 miles on it daily. I take care of it and do regular maintenance on it. It now has 5500 miles on it and runs just as good as it did when I bought it. I am 60 years old, and I use it for every little thing that I need to do around town or just to get on and ride and pass time since I am retired. I do not understand why everyone is so concerned about speed. 35 mph is great for me as I get to see things I don't normally see at 55+. I am retired and cannot afford the 2000+ for the scooters you all talk about and I am really happy with my little 800 scooter. (( Yes it is a scooter according to Maryland, anything bigger is classified as a motor cycle here )). I get 100 mpg and its a blast on the bike trails where I can ride in comfort and without fear of the idiots driving cars.

I would have a 50cc if I had level ground to ride on. I just lost my 150 in june to a damn dog. Living 5 miles from town on top of a "mountain" as they call it here a 50 does not have enough motor to do it. My favorite scooter was the 150.
A short wheel base scooter is way more fun riding around here than one with a long wheel base.
I am 71 and been riding since I was 16 (55years) and if I lived in town I too would be on a 50. The larger scooters work a lot better if you want to take a trip, although if I was to be taking a real long trip comparing what a new large scooter costs and a used big bike I would take the big bike for the same money/

Of course I'm partial to the Sym. I've put over a 1000 miles on mine in the past 4 weeks.
