welcome mark!! you did the right choice,Chinese GY6 50cc scooter is the best there is, its pretty much indestructable, and it can do cross country riding. not the fastest tho but it can surely bring you from point A to point A+
enjoy the forum, we are here to help!!

Yes. The 50cc GY6 is fairly rugged. It was originally designed as an 80cc so it's overbuilt. It's not unusual to see them with 30,000+ miles.

You could ride it to Mt. Washington (New Hampshire, I presume) but it would be awfully stressed to ride up Mt. Washington. My Dad said the steepness and altitude tested his 1961 Triumph TR-6 650cc back in the day.

Luke, Can I ride the scoot to Mt. Washington..... lol Thanks for the replies, Gentlemen. hahaha! well, going uphill i would advice you to just strap a rope on one of the cars to your scooter that goes uphill....you can ride it downhill though, without any issue.... ;Dhttp://youtu.be/kmhObEZVGKI
