Hello everyone. Is there anyone out there that is having/had this problem before? I believe that this all started after I R/R my stator last month. I would be riding and when stopped for a light, I would smell fresh new gasoline. I kind of ignored it the first time. Then it happened again so, I checked it out. I put the bike on the lift and discovered that there was gasoline leaking from the spot that is illustrated in the photo. I do not know why or how but does anyone have any solutions to my problem? Thanks in advance. Attachments:

There should be a screw in the end of that metal fitting on the end of the hose. Tighten the screw. That is the carb bowl drain screw.

Some people like to drain all of the gas out of them and put the battery on a trickle charger. I like to start mine every week or two and let them warm up good for 20 minutes or so. I put a couple of ounces of "Sea Foam" in the tank to help clean and prevent varnish build up in the carb. When the weather drops below freezing I do use a trickle charger on my batteries. I keep mine in an unheated garage. I also ride them while it's cold out, just not when it's wet.

Hello everyone. It's been a good while since I last posted anything, but here goes. I have a gas leak coming from a little part on the right side near the oil dipstick. Someone told me to tighten the little screw inside the bottom of what appears to be an overflow valve. I did so and it stopped for a while. Now it is coming out of the little nozzle to the side of this little valve. Does anyone know how to correct this? It is the same valve as before in my previous post.

Hello Gatekeeper. I am having the same leak with the gas bowl valve again. This time it's coming out the nozzle instead of the bottom where the screw is. Is this a replaceable part or is something else causing the overflow?

Pull the valve off the hose and plug the hose up. I have seen all kinds of objects used like a golf tee, heck any thing that can be forced in to the hose will work. If you stuff a over sized screw in you might have to put a tiny hose clamp on it.
or......you could move that valve to a position higher the the float bowl.

Hi, thanks for your response. I just have a question? Is it possible that there is something causing it to overflow? I mean if I plug it up, will it cause the carburetor to flood?

No your float seems to be stuck take float bowl off and find out if needle valve came off or float getting fuel inside it if so replace float.

that part that is leaking is the carb drain. Float just keeps the bowl full while the drain lets it out.
