My wife has been after me to get a flu shot and today was a glorious Fall Day. I've always wanted to take Rocket out on the Interstate and today was it. I had to ride to Hancock for the shot at a Rite Aid but made a detour. You see Hancock is alongside the Delaware River and on the other side is: Yes, my mighty 50cc bike is now an Interstate Tour Machine. Hold the applause. I took the picture and rode back into Town, and New York State, for my shot. No drama and I didn't even feel it. Sharp needles are very good. I didn't need anything else, but before I hopped back on the Interstate I figured it was time to uphold another Touring Rider tradition. Yes, it's a fact that most hardened Touring riders stop at Micky D's for lunch and who was I to shun tradition. The ride back home was hampered with a pretty solid headwind and my three horsepower Ninja was using every last one of them. I remember that I read on another forum that Interstates are boring, lack scenery and are only to get you from City to City. I thought I'd stop to take a picture so you could see how right that person is. In case anyone wonders, most of the time I was able to keep Rocket at 45 to 50 mph on the 55 mph highway. Given that the road is fairly straight in spots people moved over into the left lane to pass without drama. It's not often that one gets to ride the Interstate (I-86) on a 50cc machine. It was a kick and I got to do 35 miles of spirited riding. A really good Tour and now, hopefully, I'm all protected for the Flu season.

I'm jealous of Luke's warm weather all the time. I hate the cold.

I really do think i would like it out west somewhere better. The summers here get pretty hot but like you said it's not dry heat. The humidity here is terrible.

I'm sitting in Phoenix airport, Sky Harbor, Luke. You should be ashamed. If I lived here my Fashion would have 25,000 miles already. Mid October and 86* in the daytime. All I could think while I was here was "I need Rocket. It's so flat." You need a trailer? ? Seriously?

I'm back in the real world. You guys should see Arizona. No clouds, warm sun and dry heat. Billiard table smooth roads. I don't know why anyone who lived there wouldn't be riding all the time. We were in a Hotel next to I-10 which runs to Los Angeles and the air was alive with the sound of Harleys and crotch rockets.
Oh, and it gets frigid cold at night. Yes, it must plummet down to 60*. The locals were in jackets. I was in a Tee shirt. All I could think was that if I had a bike with me I would have been out all day.
Now I'm home and it's 55*. I was just out walking the dogs in my Tee shirt. The temperature soared to 62* today. I spent most of the day on a plane and driving home from New Jersey so I didn't get a chance to ride.
