Sony HDR-CX130 i picked up on ebay for ~$150. We have a little point and shoot camera that does nice video but it doesn't auto-focus after you start recording, so I wanted something a little better. The Sony is "small enough" to carry around. Has image stabilization and a crazy zoom capability. I'm still just scratching the surface of the bells and whistles.

Ah, I thought it was a Milan or one of the many derivations. It's probably one of the best of the China scoots out of Znen. I knew of at least one that was used furiously and had 24,000 miles in a year. It should really take care of business now that the sliders are in right.

Sooner or later it will be. I bought it as a fixer upper. The previous owner "used it furiously" and smoked the engine in the first 1000 miles. In between other projects this summer I rebuilt the motor, reversed most of the "improvements", cleaned it up, and replaced the fuel pump. It runs pretty well now. Just need to tune the CVT to my liking. I'm new to scooters so it's a learning process. Still haven't lost the stupid grin though.

When I said "Furiously" I guess I used the wrong word. Dorian lived in San Francisco and by my estimates put about 400 miles a week on his Lance. It met an untimely end when he did a big jump by accident and cracked the frame. He retired it with a perfectly good running engine since he wouldn't do a frame weld or frame replacement on it. He went back to commuting on his Gold Wing the last I heard and gave up on scooters.

I would feel much more comfy dropping that kind of cash on a camera like yours. I think hero cams are a bit overpriced for what they are. My opinion of course. I don't think i will ever lose "that stupid grin" when i'm riding my scooters. I love every second of it!

One of my friends sprung for a GoPro and some sort of remote control thingy. On our last trip he spent an inordinate amount of time farting around with it to make it work. Is it working? Is it not working? Are the batteries dead again?..... With what they charge for the camera, and then nickel and dime you to death with all the mounting accessories you would think that it would be more of a no brainer to operate. The only complaint I have with the Sony is that it takes a few seconds to boot up and the screen isn't bright enough when you're out in direct sunlight. There is only a small icon on the screen that is the recording indicator. No other red light or anything. I've lost several irreplaceable moments because I thought it was recording but wasn't. Last week there were a pair of young bobcats that strolled by our kitchen window not 50 feet away from where I was sitting. I recorded them for 30 seconds or more only to find out later that I didn't.

You know, it's funny. I recorded this video on a $40 camera I bought from KMart.
It has a red flashing dot on the screen that tells me it's recording. The telephoto stinks, but at that price I'm not afraid to toss it in the bike or have something happen to it.
I also took it with me to Tempe for a wedding and it took pretty good pictures. For a junk, beater it's been pretty handy.

Pmatulew, that is a great vid, but what I love is that you LIVE on such a great road. If I had instant access to a ride like that I would have to by gas by the barrel because I would be riding EVERYDAY. Thanks for posting it.
