When i adjusted my needle and put the diaphram back in the carb it seems that the outer edge wont go back into its slot. Is there a trick to doing this so the lid doesnt pinch it?

If you got cleaning fluid on the diaphragm it will swell up. After setting for a while and drying out it should shrink back down and fit. At least that is what happened with mine.

No fluid. Just removed it. There was gas on it though.

Pretty much the same thing. Let it dry for a while and it should shrink to fit.

I had the same thing when I adjusted the needle . I took the carb off , put my finger in the throat of the carb pushing the slide up while also fitting the diaphragm back in its grove . Put the top on and started the screws and with a q-tip ensure the lip was in the groove all the way around . Buttoned her up and was fine .
