The more I look at the Helix, and it's clones, the more I'm liking them. They remind me so much of my little elite. It's def on my radar for next spring, when I go bigger.

It took me a long time to get used to the idea of a Helix or clone. My first impression was, "Now that's ugly." Then I read about Rich's and saw how easy the maintenance was and the thought grew. One allen bolt, pop off the seat and there's the engine and battery. No hours of plastic removal to get at the valves. Riding it is fabulous. In many ways it's like sitting in a convertible and the air swirls over your head creating a bubble of warmth and even light rain and fog protection. I've put over 5,000 miles on mine in 14 months of mostly commuting. It's a great scooter. Honda must have been nuts to end production of it.

I see a future Ruckus in that add lol...my landlord has one and every time he sees a new one in my driveway he asks why I dont buy his! I dont want to insult him about his scooter so i just tell him " its better looking than your wife at least"

The only thing I dislike about a lot of china bikes is how long and tedious a process it is to get off the plastics. So that makes the helix sound even better.

The Honda Scooters of that time era were very well engineered. I remember seeing them on the roads and up close.

Yes, sadly they're made from the same stuff as Japanese scooters at one-third the price.
Plastic buckets are made from ABS, even Japanese scooters don't use that which is odd. Japanese motocross bikes do use ABS since it's more durable. Ever see a motocross bike cartwheel down the track and the rider just pick it up and continue. Try that with a Burgman. There would be a trail of plastic a mile long.
Sigh. All we can do is hope that the Chinese will improve the situation and build better than the Japanese after they take over the scooter market.

On another note I had to take the CF Moto on an 83 mile shopping trip. 71 mpg and ran like a charm.

I've never had one break on me on either of my china scoots. I think most people who break the plastics on them are careless or get in a rush when removing them. They are just annoying to get off.
