Well I started this H4 HID headlight job last Oct. and here it is the middle of Apr. The reason is I know zip about elec. stuff. I have printed 21 copies of replys on HID subjects from this web site and have learned(at 87 years old didn't think I could)a lot and here is where I am. Took off all the plastic..there's a month gone...changed all small lights to LED...rewired front drive and turn lights and they all work..yaaaa! Took out old headlight bulbs and put in new H4 bi-exon. Mounted harness controller and 2 ballests...ran new wire back to battery(had to splice wire to get back there)and am ready to hook up new harness to original wiring. Have not tried new headlights yet 'cause I am a little scared to do it but....I will.

try them out might look good I installed mine using a battery relay going to ballast and bulbs then connected power wires to switch and voila! it works hoever my switch doesn't work for high beams :S if for some reason your HIDs fail I can tell you a great seller that sells good HIDs and quick to install cheap too he also includes 1 year replacements. I didnt have to replace any bulbs because im running a 12 pole stator and a 12V 10Ah also for some reason my HIDs can run on DC and AC O.o originally they run on AC I think

Thanks Racer for the info. My high/low switch on the left handel bar will not work for the high beam so when I do connect the lights (and they work) I am hopeing that I can use the passing switch for the high beam and if not then hopeing the low beam will be enough.Looks like I have a lot of..hope..in this project. Stay tuned for the..rest of the story..

YAAAAA!!! I did it, I cut the wires. Hooked the 3 (white-blue and green)wires from my Roketa to a plug I bought at O'Rielly Auto...hooked up the battery line from the new harness to my battery...turned on the key and-----two small running lights went on and the turning and brake lights worked ok BUT...the new h4 headlights only came on when I used the passing switch on the left handelbar But that is a lot more then I expected. I'm happy. I will keep working to get it all done this year.

Very cool, as you work through these things you start to form a visual image of how it is actually working. Then if you have to redo something all of that is behind you and you start from the point where you left off. That is what makes it fun and gratifying, the learning curve. Let us know how it shakes out. Rich

Copy that Bashan...will do. Do you think that the reason the low beam will not come on is that the engine has to be running first? Just thinking out loud here.

Had to call a buddy over and it took 3 hours just to get the nose cone back on. All that added wire...controler...ballasts took up room and I had to re-ajust everything but we finaly got the nose on. That Roketa M54 has been setting in my shop for 5 months(real bad weather in Arkansas this year)but with a little work she started right up and all the lights work and I learned a lot and am a happy camper.

Should come on with the key, that's a DOT reg. The stator is all AC and will energize lights after it spins, non DOT lights like running etc but you may be all DC. I'll ask JR to take a look at your thread and see what he thinks. JR? Buk?

If it's wired like the system in the link that Alley gave you earlier then yes the lo beams only come on when the scooter is running due to the fact you should have the battery load going through a relay instead of the dimmer switch. That's A-OK. The relay can't activate until the scooter is running and I know Daming fixed his to change from hi lo to hi beam through the dimmer switch. One can put in a toggle switch and run it to the battery to be able to turn the lights on with just the key on but it's not necessary.
These HID kits are DC only, running them off AC will result in a burned up system.
