What do you feel the most common problems are with the 244cc Roketa (Jonway or whatever)? I'd like to head off any more major issues if possible.

I'm going to start with charging since I found so many threads concerning it here. What else?

1. Charging (Stator, Pickup, Fuse, Battery)

I have a 244cc Roketa MC 54 250. I had a leaking seal on my gas gauge. Fixed it with some gas safe sealer after I cleaned off the stuff that was on their. Two years later, no more leaking.

At three years the battery failed me about 4 miles from home. I had kept the scoot on a battery tender all the time. It started right off and after the trip to the post office I cam out and it would not even try to start. I was thinking about how to get it home or started and a guy in a pick up that looked like a handy man driving pulled in. I asked him and he said yes. Amazing, first ask and a start. I still keep the battery tender on but will likely start leaving it off for at least one day if planning on driving any distance. I can beg or walk locally but out of town would be a challenge.

So far, not many problems yet. But I am not doing as many miles as many folks do. Had all covers off more than once. Not hard but to me very aggravating. Too many are made to look fancy and I would prefer a service design with side panels that could be removed easily for service and repairs.

Anyone remember the old Cushman's and the 6 bolts to remove the entire cover? Sure was basic and functional. But not very sexy at all.

In the 6 months I've had mine, I've put 4000 miles on it. In Hawaii yet. LOL It's my only wheels and so I'm really gung ho about heading off any potential problems. And I ride 2 up all the time with my wife. I take her to work and then go to my job. Then we reverse it and ride home together at night.

The 244cc engine is a Chinese clone of the Honda CN-250, the most reliable scooter engine ever made. In standard use the charging system works fine. It's when you add accessories that it's taxed. It was designed before GPS, big stereo systems and heated underwear, on board hot tubs.....

My YY250-T is the third scooter I have owned, but the first to give me any problems of any kind. My wife bought this scooter, wanting something a little bigger than our 150cc Super Scooter. Had problems keeping the battery charged, until I figured out that the remote starter was running the battery down. When you start the bike with the remote, you must kill it with the remote. If you don't, it is just like leaving the key on, and the battery will drain down. Also, I had problems with loose wiring. Every time my wife went to town, the bike would die and leave her stranded. It turned out to be loose wiring. So I bought a pack of zip ties and spent a Saturday tying up all the wiring I could get to without removing any plastic, until it would finally pass the "wiggle test". And I went over all connections, crimping connectors with a pair of pliers, especially at the cheesy little fuse box(at least it had one) and the CDI box. It took about 3 months to put the first 99 miles on it, working out all the electrical issues, and haven't had any more problems since. I have put 6000 miles on it in the last 3 months! How's that for reliable!
