Good luck with the HID kit. Is it specifically made for motorcycles and scoots?
I have not had mine out at night with LED lights yet.
Right now it is up on a 'lift' in my garage for an oil change and other maintenance, bolt checking, etc. I am a real ssslllloooooowwwwwwww worker.

Yes, it's a motorcycle kit.
You should hire a local kid and teach him how to wrench for you. That would speed you up.

'Hire' is the operative word. I have done that a few times for house projects. Unfortunately I am about all out of extra cash nowadays. I have to do a lot of improvising.

So, figure out a way and come to Hawaii for a Vacay before you totally run out and have to give up riding.

Well, my new headlights arrived today. Along with my new eye specs. So I won't be doing any wrenching for a day or so till I get used to the way the world looks now.
It's seems to be a very nice kit so far. I'm really looking forward to getting it installed and running. But then I'm looking forward to my bike running as well..... ARGHHH! Overheating...(said with disgust)
Frankie, who said anything about paying the kid money. Tell him it's an aprenticeship in scooter mechanics and you're only going to charge him a small fee per semseter. LOL

Damn, why didn't I think of that???
New glasses, contacts, or surgery? I have two pairs of glasses, supposedly the same prescription, from two different labs. One pair from a regular optical shop work real well, the pair from Walmart make me feel like I am walking in a bowl. They work as a backup. I used them while I was getting the scoot running.
Overheating? -Grass clippings in the fan shroud?

I wish it was only grass. Hit something on the freeway and lost all my coolant. Overheated the engine right fast and now it refuses to start.
New glasses. Took my tri-focs and put them into a new pair of progressives. I feel like I'm in wonderland....

Ouch! That is bad news. Probably warped the head or valves hurting the compression. I have seen holes in pistons also. Materials in these engines are at their thermal limits even in normal operation.
I am going to have to go the same way with my trifocals. They just don't make the blanks anymore and IF one can find them they are $$$$. When I tried the progressives a number of years ago they were like being in a carnival fun-house. I didn't like them at all. At the time I could not get used to them. I guess one's vision does adjust with time. The brain is a marvelously plastic organ. Unfortunately my brain has been stretched to it's limits so I just don't know... Even on normal days the headaches are almost unbearable.

I don't recall the movie, but there was a line where a med student said, "Better living through pharmacology." I always thought that was funny, but now with all the other things I deal with I think it just might be true. I looked at my med cabinet and realized I could open my own pharmacy. Headaches? Sure, I got that one covered for you. Take two or maybe three of these and call me if you wake up. LOL
Funhouse mirrors? yep, that pretty much describes it. LOL

Well it is like a funhouse with all the crazy tilting floors and rooms with the warped mirrors. My daughter wanted to go through one once when she was a teenager so I went with her. It was a cross between a funhouse and a haunted house. She said she will NEVER go with ME again. It is my life ambition to talk her into going into one again.... hehehehe Maybe I will get a chance with the grandchildren, -if I ever get any.
Funny thing is that a normal funhouse does not bother me at all. Wearing new glasses does though. I will have to try a funhouse with a new or old pair of glasses sometime just for grins. That should be a good adrenaline rush.
Everyone in KC should be afraid, be VERY afraid...
I watched a movie called 'Flight' last night about a plane crash and an alcoholic pilot. It looked like a fun flight to me. Lots of turbulence, flying inverted... Normally when other airline or ship passengers are screaming or puking I have a big grin on my face. I like carnival rides, the wilder the better. Must be the ADD.
Congrats on 100 posts!

100? Already? Yikes. Either you bring out the potagee in me or maybe my wife is actually correct. (She usually is)....
I'm really hoping and praying my engine is not warped or seized. Can't afford that. If it is, I may have to toss it and convert to electric. Cheaper in the long run.
(Potagee = "Pote-a-Gea";noun/adjective. Hawaiian slang for motormouth)

The engines for these things are cheap as long as you don't go through a dealer. Check with some of the advertisers. Otherwise check with Amazon. A lot of Chinese suppliers are selling through Amazon. Shipping may be a problem for you.
Change your profile title to Potagee.... LOL

There are some cases where electric is the only sane way to go. Like going to work where the speed limits are less than your top speed, and the round trip is maybe 1/2 of the range of the batteries so that you never get them discharged all the way. Daily repetitive trips would make for the perfect use for an electric scooter. And if you want to get real cheap, charge them on some one elses nickle. I am not too sure electric would be good for recreational use with the range problems but might be ok for some people. john

I travel about 15/16 miles one way to work at less than my top speed which is about 70mph. Speed limit is 55. The range of a full charge is supposedly around 30 miles. I would be adding some solar panels also to help charge it for free while it's parked. And I can always plug it in if I need to.
For the price of the motor and a couple of deep cycle batteries I could get half of a new gas motor. At least the ones I've seen online.
