When I bought this scooter the cdi was missing. I bought a new racing cdi.But the colors of the wires were all diferent. And I canot get any spark. This scoot has a alarm system and it don't look to be in very good shape. Rusty connections and etc. could this be my problem of no spark? and if so could i just unplug it?

This could be VERY DIFFICULT if you do not know how to read a schematic. This is a basic wiring schematic for the QMB139 Engine. This engine is in about 70% of 50cc scooters I've came across. I AM NOT SAYING THIS IS YOUR Scooter's Diagram, But a majority of scooters will have this wiring diagram. IF YOU DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE messing with the alarm, I would wait for someone else on the forum to give you advice about it, I have NEVER had to mess with one... IT COULD, keep the scoot from starting, or start flashing turn signals, and never go off for all I know. AS FOR THE CDI, look at this schematic and see if they are the same wire colors, if they are, find a CDI with the same colors, and plug style.

Thanks I have heard of having to put jumper wires to 4 terminals on plug for the alarm to make it run?

I have never heard that, but to add to your problem, if it is still not starting, you could have a problem in the brake lever safety switch, the starter button, Ground Connection, I am sorry I have NO EXPERIENCE with Alarms... BUT I would think you could bypass by jumping the wires that connect at the alarm, yeah. Let us know how it goes, and what you come up with, this will be good reference for others!!!

I have tried everything. I have the rear brake lever weged on, and the brake light comes on when you crank it. Also the green light on the racing cdi flashes when you crank it?

How sure are you that your not getting spark? Have you put a spare plug in it, and grounded it on the engine? if the CDI is flashing, I would think that means its getting power from stator/magneto...

Find the alarm/remote start module... trace the wires to a white plug. Unplug the plug from the wiring harness then if you have a brown/white and a black/white wire in the harness plug join them together with another wire... your scooter should start...
You might try connecting the grey and pink... if you have these colors
[Blue]OR:[/Blue] If colors are red/white and black/red JUMP red/white to black/red on the alarm plug
Sometimes the alarms have a fuse.. Just leave it plugged into the wiring harness and remove the fuse.. It should start-up Alleyoop

I do not have any of these color wires to the alarm I tried to unplug the alarm that did not work, I pluged the alarm back up, and removed the fuse, That did not work either?
Could it still be cdi wire hookup to the racing cdi???Thanks very much for your help

Yes, take a picture of your CDI and the wires plugged into to, If your not getting spark it could very well be the CDI. Need to see the wires from the STATOR going into it. Alleyoop

This scoot has a small bulb in the bottom of the headlight? Does it burn when it starts? It has a brown wire and a black wire to it. does not light up when cranking like the other bulbs do. It also has a big bulb for the headlight that works. Any ideas on this ?? Thanks again for all the HELP

sorry it took so long to get back on here with this info. I can,t get a camera right now so I'll try to tell you what my wire color's are. From the stator A white wire, A yellow /red stripe wire, which changes to green/yellow at first plug, A black wire, A Green/white wire A black/red wire that changes to red/black stripe at first connector, A white wire, A green/white stripe wire, And A white/red stripe that changes to red/yellow at first connection. Then the racing CDI has a red/black wire, A red/white wire, A black wire, A black/ white stripe wire, A orange wire, A dark green wire with a white/green stripe wirw spliced to it. The wiring harness to the cdi box has A red/yellow stripe wire, A red/black stripe wire A orange wire, A black wire, A dark green wire, A green/white stripe wire. ARE YOU CONFUSED YET I sure am. I hope this will help. Thank you very much for any help
