What is the concept ? Ive read many scoots around 2000 miles or so make more power. What happened to make this possible?
I personally think it has more to do with the belt wearing in a bit, mods people have done, adjustments being made than the motor actually creating more HP and TQ>

Nah uh. By the time they reach 2,000 miles all the parts are beginning to bed in. Valve guides, bearings, pistons and rings, wrist pins, blah, blah, blah. All the pieces are finally round, opened up and sealing. Less friction, more compression and pieces worn in. That's why this "Ride it Like you stole it" break in method is such nonsense. If you think 2,000 miles is something, compare it to a GY6 with 5,000 miles. A totally different animal by then.

5k huh? I bet many who use synthetic after 1-2000 never see that increase in performance then

I had to adjust the idle a couple times over the first 200km because it kept getting faster. I think the fast idle one day did some damage to my clutch or belt. The scoot was jerking & shuddering a little when stopped and when I took off. It got better when I turned the idle down but it still does it under some loads. I am breaking mine in much the same as I will be riding it. As a beginner, I wasn't riding real fast at first anyway or for any distance. I did open it up on hills and just for fun sometimes. I have a tach which I am not sure works because it only shows a little over 6000rpm when I am running wide open. These little engines should break in fairly rapidly just due to the speeds they operate at. It will be 'interesting' to see what happens if they continue to gain power.

5k huh? I bet many who use synthetic after 1-2000 never see that increase in performance then I'm talking from my point of view. The 150cc engine in my Bashan just keeps getting a stronger feel as the miles accumulate. It didn't feel this snappy at 2,000 miles. I run at 45 mph with it at about half throttle. I found out it would easily do an indicated 60 when my wife (who isn't bashful about using the throttle) came home and told me she saw it. My 250 even feels a little more stout now than when I got it 6,000 miles ago.
