OK OK!! I've had a bunch of PMs about posting something about the Citycom I bought from Cookees. Oddly enough, all of the requests had Cookees' computer IP address and they've said things like "who is this Cookees and is he as handsome as I've heard?" or "can Cookees sell me a scooter and I don't care how much it is!?". I'm going to have to tell Tom somebody his computer...I think.
Anyway, I've wanted a SYM for a long time and Cookees was gracious enough to give me a good deal on his demo 2013 Citycom 300i. It had 1K on the odo which I'm sure took Cookees several weeks of running in reverse to rack up. Seriously, I've lusted after the Citycom 300i but figured it was a little out of reach. My thanks to Tom for making it happen.
I've had three bikes in my two wheeled career that after a short distance on my first ride I found I was laughing out loud. One was a new 800cc Beemer back in the 70s, one was a 2000 Vulcan Classic 1500FI, and then the Citycom 300i (hence the LOL). Tom shipped the bike down to Bama and of course foul weather set in and I had to wait two weeks to get on it. I didn't really know what to expect, I had never ridden an EFI maxi scooter.
This thing is fast, not kinda fast for a scooter, it's fast. There's a push backwards in the seat when you open the throttle that doesn't let up until you let loose of the go handle. But it's so eerily smooth and quiet you better keep an eyeball on that speedo. This bike hits ticket territory and you're too busy grinning to notice. I blew by a parked cop at 80 on the way to work on my second commute. He was out of his car and saw me coming. I got a thumbs up and a grin, maybe a scooter lover, maybe a break because it was 30 degrees...who knows.
Don't get me wrong, I will always get a charge out of Chinese scooters. They're fun to work on, they're inexpensive, and they're a hoot to ride. But this Taiwanese bike has one of the best fit and finishes I've seen on any bike....ever. The body work is almost without imperfections, the metal is all smooth with no ugly welds. In fact, this bike is finished off much better than the last Honda I looked at. Sorry, I don't mean to offend anybody, JMO. An example is this industrial strength swingarm that is flawlessly made:
Well, let's look at the engine compartment. So much for me working on this thing by myself! You know what I like about EFI? NO AIR CUT VALVE!! This bike is much faster than the engine stats would suggest, go figure.
Cookees said he would help me out if I needed to work on the electronics! Right Tom? Tom? Where the hell did you go Tom??!! Fine.
Let's see, there was a couple things I wanted to show you....oh yeah, huge bucket, will hold a helmet:
5A accessory outlet will run my heated gloves and more:
Cool brakes:
Fantastic headlights!! These things turn night into day!! OK, maybe a stretch, but they are great!!
Tremendous windshield too, very nice pocket of quiet air around me.
OK, here's a couple kinda bad things, I wish the floorboard space was larger. My feet are a bit cramped:
I don't have a picture of it but the brights indicator light is so bright on the dash it is actually distracting and reflects on my shield. Nitpicky but I would have thought R & D would have caught that. I love it though, it is an awesome machine......WOW.

Glad you like it. It IS a blast to ride. it's a grand cheaper than the comparable KYMCO. It feels nimble in the city and eats up those hiway miles.

Yep, he's right. And I will extend these type of deals to any member of the Scooter Doc family. I was able to use uShip to get Bashan's SYM to him for a really good price.
I'd rather forgo my profit margin than have to stare at these scooters for the next three months. So hit me up and let's deal.

All our fleet are Syms, they are a lot more expensive than the Chinese scoots but they are, by and large, a lot better quality, We have had reservations about the paint thickness on the grab rails, wheels and exhausts unfortunately, which seems to wear off very quickly. We have been offered the possibility of running a dealership, which the boss is weighing up at the moment. Good to see a review of the 300, I`m also looking forward to having a look at the new 600cc scoot they are offering.

GREAT BIKE!!!!!! Honda tapped some companies in taiwan to make their scooters,,and when honda wants you to make something and they put their name on it that is huge and it speaks volumes about quality that we on this board have been beating about for a few days,,,i always went import because i couidn't get the quality that i was looking for at home and the choices are limited ,,congrats and happy trails!!

Sho Nuff! OK, let's see, I punch a bunch of holes in the tape, and then stretch it across my eyelids. Well, I can't see much but the Cyborg wouldn't steer me wrong. OK, let's hit the go handle and see how this works. Yeah! A lot less glare and, well a lot less of everything associated with photons! I'm coming up on dead man's curve and hopefully I'll be able to see a little....AAAAARRRGH! Cyborg!! You android mo....aaaaahhh.

I never looked at it that way but i guess it could work,,,,for you,,,i on the other hand had crazy bright hi beam and turn indicator dash lights on my last two bikes,,,i punched out a few "disks" of the tape, cleaned the lens, placed it on there,,didn't come off when i washed them and could still see them in the daytime,,it worked perfectly for me,,as far as the super clean welds you encountered on your new "baby" this is what i've been howling about on other threads,,,the killer machine tooling these modern factories are useing ,,,absolutely awsome,,,i've not seen your specific make but i have seen others and man it is a wonder , and from what i see in your great detail pics the rest of the bike's build followed suit,,,great bike great price (even with the shipping),,,

That is a picture of the Scooter Doc guy superimposed on a pic of me. I used the paint program to accomplish that. The Scooter Doc guy was created by my wife who owns her own web design business. Your inquiry jogged a few brain cells and at one time I was going to get a account with Café Press to get some T shirts and other items made. I'll look into that today. Rich

That citycom has at least a half a dozen improvements over my majesty. sorry you have to put up with a floorboard like that. I know exactly how it feels, my majesty has one just like it.
