I just got done redoing a friends hornet and I cant remember where all the vacuum lines go. I got a few but when I try starting it gas comes out of the float bowl. I took the carb off two times and checked the float level and when I blow in the fuel line it stops when I turn it upside down. do I have a vacuum line hooked up wrong? could someone please show me a diagram(picture) of all vacuum lines from canister to fuel pump to carb? thanks

Sure man, we can get you that. Here's a diagram from Abscooters that's very helpful:
There is no GY5, just relax folks. This one is real world and was my wife's scooter. It ran strong for a few yeaas: I'll take it apart and see what's up with it:

The only thing I can think of is A. the float is set to high and not stoping fuel flow or the float is dragging the side of the bowl and is not letting the needle valve seat to stop flow. The reason it overflows when you hit the start button is because the petcock it only open when it has vacume from the intake port. When you turn the engine over vacume is applied to the petcock and if the float is set to high then it will flood. Assuming you have checked the needle valve and seat for damage set the float as follows. There is a line on the float where the two halves were molded together. That line should be level with the bowl mounting flange when the carb is upside down. Also make sure that the float is not rubbing the side of the bowl. Hope this helps you!

Also, if you have a PAIR pollution device it has a vacuum line. The red arrows point to the beginning and end of this line. If you have a vapor recovery device, the line will have a splitter and that line will run to the vapor canister. If you have a vacuum fuel pump you'll also see a line split off for that.
However, the vacuum lines are not your problem. Scatter Brained isn't so scattered. It is the float valve, I guarantee it. It's not seating for some reason. When you blow into it or turn it upside you force it to seat. You need to check the little plunger that pushes up into the seat. If the spring in it isn't working it will leak. Sometimes the seat itself is bad. I've seen the seat fall out and not get noticed. It is the float valve and not your vacuum system. Can you get s some pics?

If the gas is coming out of the bottom of the BOWL it is your CARB DRAIN. The carb you have if it does not have a screw next to it then you are missing the HOSE which has the Drain screw on the END OF IT. Alleyoop See the screw at the bottom next to the Drain Hose turn that Clockwise to shut off the Drain. If your does not have a Screw next to the Drain Hose then you are missing this HOSE which has the Drain Screw on the end of it or the hose is there but the Drain Screw is missing or loose.
