We went to go check on our Scooter's for the first time since we put them away the other day (they're in an unheated storage unit! ). Keep in mind that it is 24 degrees out while we are doing this!

Anyways, went in, made sure everything is okay, but then we went to go turn the throttle...uh oh! Looks like some water got in the throttle cable before we put them away (That's what a thorough cleaning does for you ), and that water turned to ICE! Makes me wonder if there is gonna be damage to the cable when we take them out of storage this spring! We'll see!

Until then, we won't be turning those throttles!

Garden hoses are the natural enemy of two wheeled vehicles. On the odd occasion that I wash my toys I use a soapy bucket to lightly lather it up and a damp clothe to get rid of the soap. I have friend who's a hose junkie and don't you know he was constantly getting water into his carburetors on his 250 Ninja.

i inject 1ml of marvel mystery oil to my cable once a year using a cable oiler.
marvel mystery oil eliminates water due to condensation, high humidity,rain etc. plus its an oil base and has a lubricating power.
i do this on cables of my scooters, bicycles, lawnmowers etc.

Well, sometimes you can only get some of that tough dirt from the bottom of your scooter with a high powered hose

In the 10 years I had my Honda Shadow Sabre, I hose washed it 2 times. Once in sturgis after a rain/mud ride, and once in Denver for the same reason.

All the rest of the time I used pig snot or lemon pledge

The ice will melt, and the water will dissipate, but not a bad idea to squirt some lithium grease on the cable.

A new cable would be cheaper than the tool , then you would have a fresh start .

FROZEN is right, it is -15 wind chill and going down to -24 it is dropping every hour. What happened to GLOBAL WARMING!!

Yea I notice that as well when you hit reply it is slower than molasses, so you think it didn't think and hit it reply some more(HAHA). Happens to me then I check and delete the dups.
