Yesterday I pulled the CVT cover off so I could change my sliders to rollers. Got'r done.
When I got the cover off and laid it down I noticed a tiny spring (dammit if I didn't lose it already) laying loose in the bottom of the cover. Having disassembled nearly 95% of my motor recently I do not recall seeing anything like this and don't know where it came from. Wish I had a picture to post. I'd say the spring is about 1cm long and about 3mm wide. Any guesses from you guru's?

Oh no, not the torque absorber spring!! Kidding! It's nothing, probably some guy at the factory dropped it in there. Rich

It is still a mystery to me as I have no idea where it came from. I was in there cleaning it out not three weeks ago and I never saw it. Note: Mysterious tiny spring inside CVT cover is NOT a torque absorber spring. *starts googling*

If you maybe cleaned out the carb and taking the fuel ratio screw completly out it sounds like a spring that goes in there to keep the screw from vibrating loose. Alleyoop

HEY I LIKE THAT PIC I am going to copy it and make a small one and put it in my SIG(HAHA). Alleyoop

Well you still seem better than you were. I thought that pic just fit you to a T somehow. I used to get sick like that every damn year when I lived in Toledo. Sick as a dog for a month. It has happened once since I moved to the south, 31 years ago. Come on down buds, the weather is fine!

Just a thought because of the size you say it is. Maybe you used the cvt cover to hold parts and that is why it is there. The only other place a small spring like that is under the IDLE SPEED SCREW but that one is a little bigger. Alleyoop
