Nice to see you're still alive. Glad you're going to get your poor little scooter going again. If I had a jetski I'd probably be too preoccupied to fix scooters too!

thanks gatekeeper. the jetski will be a fun monster to fix and maintain. its not like you can take the seat off to get to the engine area and do stuff. you have to take the whole upper deck off to get to it! luckily the area where i can work on it at the marina is about 50 feet from mechanics so if i get stuck im not totally screwed . I found a message board of guys who have the same make/model and they are a great help. I joined a bike repair message board today too so I can keep my bike on the road. No point in paying mechanics to do it. Things like jetskis, scooters and bicycles are small enough to not need a huge lift like a car to fix so ill DIY if I can. at least once I get my scooter running Im going to promise her i wont neglect her again." procrastination and neglect causes rust and other problems. " thats my new mantra LOL 10am the scooter mechanic comes over and he seems like the type that is all into customers watching, learning and being hands on so i hope to learn even more

blown away by how awesome that guy was. Prompt, friendly, helpful, fast and cheap. He tried so much, adjusted, lubed, tightened, checked all over, diagnosed and fixed with quickness for about 1/4 of what I thought it would be in price. He was pretty impressed by how much I knew and did on my own and I told im I owed it all to the scooter doc guys. Two things he noticed that were not a big deal yet or relative to the problem was my cap on the air valve thingee cracked. I guess 6 mo of letting it sit in the heat did it but i had some so I popped a new one on. He said my carb wasn't far forward enough and tightened it up. I had a hard time getting it tight. It was what I thought it was... the wires to the starter switch were loose. One of the little side lock thingees that makes the wire harness click in tight had broken off. I'm glad he fixed it because I was afraid i'd break plastic getting into the top of the steering column. I do need a new turning signal relay and he showed me exactly how to get the top back off and replace it. Looks easy as heck so I'm ordering that. He also said 2 of my gas lines were stiff and I had the wrong type of fuel line so it may crack and leak gas within the next 6 mo or so and told me exactly what kind of fuel line to get so im ordering that also. Very easy fixes. He was beyond impressed by how I had my carb tuned. He said it sounded amazing. I was thinking ya $20 ebay carb and very detailed instructions from the scooter doc guys especially alley on how to get that good. So I'm thrilled to have a mecahnic who is fantastic and comes to you if I get stuck again but still trying to do things myself. He tested my battery and even after 6 months of sitting, it was holding a charge great. So on to order turning signal relay, fuel hoses and do it THE DAY i receive them. no more putting stuff off. I forgot how much i love riding my scooter. wind through your hair and 49 whole CCs of power between my legs. LMAO. Hey at least my jetski is more like 1500cc YAY! Happy! He checked the bendix, solenoid, tightened brake cable, lubed up some things, checked oil, test drove it. Awesome. I was even more impressed and inspired that he made it to me from his emergency service call in 40 min. Via mapquest it should have taken that long to get to me by car and he was on a bicycle !!!!

Bet that wrong gas line is tygon tubing. That clear crap you get at hardware stores. I think it would possibly be ok if we didn't have to use alcohol in the gas or get it hot. I get the silicon rubber tubing from the saw shop. I get one size smaller than 1/4". Is tinted but you can see the gas come thru it. Don't know for sure but I believe that size is well over a buck a foot and is said to never get hard or crack. Don't think city people will know what a saw shop is, so, it is where you get chain saws repaired.

thanks JCT842. I my incorrect tube was grey. I figured it was fine because it was fuel line that came with my other carbs that I replaced and was on the fuel intake areas not air. I ordered the black since I've tried the clear before and it was too stiff for me (pain to hook up and make stay on the filter) so I was worried the transparent would be the same. The mechanic said I needed 5/32 ID fuel line so I just ordered that in black from ebay since the black seems pliable and easier to deal with.
