Ready to leave my home town and go out west. Hoping to get to arizona or california. Leaving from northwest arkansas. Id be bringing a couple 2 gallon gas cans along for some of my luggage, and complete tool kit along with oil and spare belt. Anything else I should take? Other than tent and drink7ng water. My bike has 5600 kilometers on it and im planning on changing the oil every 400 miles, since its gonna be long and hard wide open miles. Im thinking about taking historic route 66 for most of the joirney. Im hoping to spend less than 70 bucks to get to where im going.

I bought a new pack a couple weeks ago and it's amazing. I bought it for school and/or camping. It's amazing the amount of crap you can fit in this bag. It's covered in MOLLE webbing, so you can attach whatever you want. It also has a compartment for a water bladder, like a Camelback. When I bought it, I did so with a scooter commute in mind. Here's a link: Red Rock Large Assault Pack. I bought a water bottle holder for it too that's also pretty sweet: Condor Drink Carrier. If I were you, I'd also pack a GMRS radio. If you get out in the boonies and break down, you might not have phone service, but you can at least try to get someone on the radio. You'd hate to end up like this:

Why would you carry gas can? Magoo Because my gas tank is quite small and I want to carry extra gas from a reliable station with me.i dont want to be stranded . I only get 80 miles per tank.

Bob, as I remember you have a 50cc?.......kidding! No? it's a 250......huh? No? I knew that. Cereally, we had a guy try to go from northern Canada to Key West on a 150. He made it down the block. But his name wasn't Bob. I would say taking your time on 66 is a good idea. Even if it's a water cooled 250....huh? It's not....oh... . I'm kidding, and I'm trying to use all of JR's new emoticons. Actually, if I was younger I wouldn't try what you're doing, I had a job. I'm kidding, I didn't!!
Best of luck, take your time, that was the mistake the last guy made, don't overheat, change the oil often. Please get online and check in with us, we at Scooter Doc will be thinking of you, we really will. Rich

How come nobody ever answers John? I mean, you could at least answer him you guys. He asks a simple question and then NOBODY answers...ever. Why? No one knows. There have been studies, the famous Mayo clinic TVnAC study, Rothschild, Kettering, the Institute of TVAC Whyology decade long forced answer horrific debacle, all for naught. And what is naught? John would say a wooden mass in a tree, or a looping of rope. But then John is loopy so where does that leave us? Knot here, that's for sure. No it brings us right back to HERE!:
The message has been sent:
What is this all about ? John The quiet indignation of a man who has seen foul play too often, indeed fowl used as aerial communication, and foul balls...yes, I said it....FOUL BALLS And I can say that, because I'm the admin! Well, now the co admin....see Jack and me.....don't distract me! Oh the foul, fowl TVnACman! If ye see evil cluck thy eyes out!! Huh? No it's not pluck...it's cluck..no it's.....oh damn you're right. Hey John what's up? I think it's about a thousand miles. Wanna go get a brewski?..cul.

Dude I rode from Aiken sc to Knoxville Tn on my eagle 150 then from Knoxville to Hendersonville Nc to Aiken sc. Around 800 miles total. I would do it agian In a heartbeat. The dragons tail was an awesome ride. Get a solid tool kit together and go for it! Pack any spare parts you might have and go have a blast.
