The better the grip the quicker they go away. Metzler is similar but probably better miles. I use pirelli cause I want to out last the tire.

I never got more than 3K on my Kawasaki's rear tire and my wife's bike is at 2K and wearing thin. Bike's do that but I'm not telling you anything Pete. Hey, KZ said he found some tires that lasted longer, I just remembered. I'll PM him and see if he can add to this. I put a Michelin on the Fashion last time and it did well. This SYM is chewing through it's tires. Um, I can't really blame the SYM, I think it's the bonehead behind the go handle. Maybe that was the Kawi's problem too. JR is good with tires, but by that I mean he likes to wrap them around his waist and roll down the street. It's...it's....unspeakable.

JCT will probably protest but Bridgestone makes a pretty good tire. You can't get them anymore but I put a Cheng Shin on the back of my Scooter and Kawasaki. The Kawi lasted almost 10,000 and the scooter is coming up on 5,000, with a 10" wheel no less. Duro makes a pretty good tire. I hear Kenda isn't bad and Shinko is Yokohama and getting good reports. My Dad used Pirelli for years but admitted they were soft. You could see chunks of tire missing after awhile. I would never use Pirelli since I'm both cheap and lazy.

And yes, the guy on the go handle does influence tire life. Higher speeds heat up a tire and hard stopping doesn't help either. I might get a little more out of mine because I ride like an old lady but ALL tires these days are soft. No joke. It was nothing to get 35,000 to 40,000 out of a front and around 14,000 out of a rear tire in 1980. I was furious when my first front tire on the 2000 Kawasaki burned up at 10,000. It weighed 150 pounds less than my KZ and ran the same size tire. They softened them all for Knee Dragging wheelie specialists. The law suits from crazies who lost traction at 150 mph would have killed the business.
Cheng Shin got out of the Street Tire side for just that reason. Remember the story about the guy who sued QLink because his rear tire was Insufficient for the 250 Commuter's speed capabilities. He said, "The tire only had 5,000 miles on it and shouldn't have blown out." My Fashion, the same bike, showed cord at 4500.

I knew that they would burn up in a shorter time because of the dinky size, but i figured 2500 at least,,,looks like 1500 max in my opinion,,i guess it's a matter of research, buy, test , choose,,,,thanks

I was at a Powersports shop asking them about scooter tires. They had Michelin 110/90/10 for about $50. They said the Michelin last about 6,000 to 7,000 miles. One of my scooters with 10" tires has Duro. These tires have lasted me just under 6,000 miles and I brake REAL HARD.

Yes jvino,,i ride a vespa,,,et4 150cc to be exact,,,it's a long boring story,,ordered a ssr sonic and the deal went south,,,found the vespa literally 3 minutes on CL right after the ssr dealer called me and said they didn't have one,,,jumped on it and got lucky,,,i got this thing going for italian stuff,,,my last 6 bikes except one were italian,,,and thanks dan50 i'll give the michelins a try and see if they last,,,the front doesn't look bad at all,,,but the rear is going away faster than i would like ,,,it'll be bald at 1500 i would think,,,,after the mich,,if it doesn't last i'll try the duro,,,KZ suggested it also so i may go duro on the next full change,,,i usually get two rears to one front,,,so i'll try the mich,,,then the front and rear will need to be changed then i'll go duro for both,,,i keep a log so i'll actually remember mileage and wear characteristics,,,,i also need to change the pogo sticks they have on this thing from stock,,,i see bitubo in my future,,,you'd think at 5 grand plus for one of these piles they would put on decent shocks,,,i may be spoiled tho as every one of my past bikes have had custom suspensions,,,so i may have a skewd point of view,,,i know what's good and this ain't it,,,i'm hoppin around like a frog on hot tar,,,this may have something to do with the tires also,,,i'm not ridin like grandma moses on this thing,,,

No protest about bridgestone, I had used them for years too. In fact the last tire I replaced before switching to pirelli was a bridgestone battle axe. As I get older am more afraid of loosing it as I haven't slowed down much at all. I want all the grip I am entitled too! john
Tires are cheap compared to what the local hospital/cuting for cash center charges. And easy to change your self.

Don't listen to him, that's the OEM tire for a Morphous. Mine looked like that after only 4,500 miles, see? So you only have 5,000 miles on the Morph. I knew it! 28,000 miles-HAH! Fibber, you only have 5,200 miles at most. You had the camera there. How come no picture of the odometer-FAKER!

Oh right. You don't even know what that tire is. 28,000 my butt. I'll bet it's 6,000-Tops. That's an OEM Bridgestone and you've been spouting off about Michelin and Pirelli for years. I call BS. You aren't keeping me in suspense with your tales. You've just been trying to figure out to Photo Shop 28,000 miles onto a picture of a Morphous odometer. I've seen enough. My Bashan is a better scooter than your Morph. I've shown the videotape of 7374 miles on its odo. Let me refresh your memory.
It will be just like that phony picture You tried to tell was Lake Havasu with a phony sign in front of that rock down the street. Answer this question. What famous landmark is in Lake Havasu Class? London Bridge. And you show your scooter in front of a rock. Blaaah. Fake.
