Dave is right on use a little sand paper on them and possibly a little brake cleaner if handy not nesary though. Your front brakes should be a majority of the stopping.

I don't see why it SHOULD be the majority of stopping power. It's still stopping power, right?

Dave is right on once you get the wheel of sand the shoes see how much shoe is left I don't know how many miles are on your scooter. I would think you could get 1000 to 3000 miles out of them but since there drum I am not sure keep us posted and good luck. Remember were everything goes I would sugest trying to solve the problem the same day so make sure your brain is fresh on how it came apart.
