Currently have a blue screw or valve type deal on the top of my shock. any ideas what it will do if i unscrew it...

Currently have a blue screw or valve type deal on the top of my shock. any ideas what it will do if i unscrew it... What kind of scooter is it? Some of the classy motorcycles have air shocks that you put air in to adjust the ride height. Even classier shocks have a valve to recharge the nitrogen. A picture would be nice to see of it.

repeat after me,,,,,,MY EYES!!!!!!!!! it could be a high preasure nitrogen charged shock so be careful,,,KZ hit it on the head i think with the "load leveler" type of shock,,,if you're 2 up or with a load you can stiffen up the rear

It looks like a cap for an air valve to me. If you unscrew it you should find a Schrader valve under it. You would adjust your ride height with it for carrying more weight or a passenger. That's pretty neat for a scooter.

Yes i have taken the blue cap of and its a valve the same as a bicycle innertube.I pressed on it to see if anything comes out and nothing empty.what do you fill it up with air,gas ?

I don't recall the exact numbers for shock inflation so be very conservative starting out. Start with only a couple of psi and work up from there. It wasn't alot. Cyborg would have a better handle on that than I would.

WOW!! you have some oil leaks there my man, check your valve cover vent hose it may be coming from there or your valve cover gasket. Alleyoop

Tires get destroyed by oil. Forget the shock and take care of the oil first!

Holy sheehite,,Alley is correct (AS USUAL!!) that oil leak is gonna either burn up the mill or kill you or both,,,that to me would be top priority,,,,,

Hey guys its engine cleaner. washed it all off after few years of grime from the previous owner..I won't go into what state the transmission fluid was in.The engine is nice and clean now.thanks for the info on the shock but decided to go by a new shock £35.00 from Ebay item number 141047875804 will arrive tommorrow.
