Trailer?

Just curious. Has anyone had a trailer for there scooter. I had a utility trailer for my GoldWing and Magna and one to haul my canoe. Also converted a child carrier for my peddle bike. Would a small one be practical for a scooter? About the size of two milk crates I see so often on the back rack.

I got a milk crate for the back of my scooter it makes it so dependable I don't need a trailer. Sorry I am not sure what your asking.

Thanks for the links. The first on is the one that I'm thinking of but as you say. Expensive. This is what I made for behind my e-Moto electric assist bike for $125 and I could still put it back to a child hauler:
And this is what I built for the motorcycles for $135. The pod comes off and then it's a flat bed to haul larger items like the snowblower:

Wow I wonder what that's like to ride that motorcycle with a trailer? That's pretty nifty gadget.

I think this idea would fall into the category of "just because you can doesn't mean you should". If you insist on following through with it though take a look at one of these: www.burley.com/page_454_119/nomadsuptmsup or www.burley.com/page_453/flatbed.htmlI've used both of these extensively behind off road and hybrid bicycles and they're heavy duty and very well made. Throw on a set of Schwalbe Big Apple tires for added stability in towing.

The one behind the bicycle is a Burley frame with the cloth and tubing cabin replaced. I don't do rough terrain so the fat tires aren't necessary.
It depends on the load with the motorcycle. When others have challenge it I showed them the weight and asked them "and how much does you co-rider weight. End of discussion. Of course it was better behind the Gold Wing where it wasn't even noticeable.

Does that include the crankshaft breaking in half?
I wouldn't have on of those "helper wheels" conversions. Try to test ride them first as many don't like the feel and loss of control. I have been considering a side car instead. Like the helper wheels they can also be removed if you like and there's more storage area. But be advised like any modification to a two wheelers design it will effect the handling.
Your light weight scooter probably doesn't have the hard stearing issues that effect triked, helper wheels or side hacked heavy weight motorcycles. It will require a lot more upper body strength and endurance unless the fork is raked. Another $1000. And then the increased rake affects the handling negatively without the helpers or side hack.
Dave I know removing the modes wouldn't apply to you but I included that for others to consider.

I have the Voyager kit on my Silver Wing and it rides and handles fine. Mine was set up by voyages, is a great ride around town and interstate...
