As has been mentioned in several threads, scooters are dividing into subclasses, just like motorcycles.. I have taken the liberty to propose a simple naming convention for these classes..

Not me. I did big, it's a hoot but has its drawbacks. I'd like the Sachs he calls a Scrailbike. I call it a rocking good time.

Only one of the 2 "scooters" is a scooter.

Yes John, we know...the others aren't step through... ... . How about juxtapose what Novaraptor did (thanks by the way!) and call them all Scootorcycles? One size fits all.

The rest of the "scooters" are mongrels just like when you mix two different pure breed dogs a mongrel. And my majesty is also a mongrel!

"Scootorcycles" I like that, as a catchall for anything between the traditional "scooter" and the traditional motorcycle. Does give the short answer to the question I most often get on my 250 scuiser. I'll use it.. Thanks Bashan! And yeah, that Sachs is even harder to categorize, cause it isn't really a scooter by definition, but looks more "scooterish" than motorcycle.
