Drill it. A tiny hole will not spill gas but leaving the cap loose is just flat dangerous. Get your self tipped over for any reason and you might get drenched with gas (human torch)

I had to do the same to my ford tractor ten years ago and still is fine.

This is the problem, this venting mechanism is plugged up or the check valve is stuck:
This is how you get rid of it, it is a piece of crap and is a huge source of problems for novice scooter owners, pitch it:
Yeah, don't leave the cap loose, it's just a diagnostic test. Rich

Oh good grief, I forgot about that one Doc! They were so crazy and off the wall back then! Did you get into Second City? Fireside? Those were the days. We'd be up at 2 AM and couldn't quit laughing. Enjoy your youth kids, you got one swing at the ring. Rich

I know Second City is virtually a prospect league for SNL but that's where my knowledge ends. I've never heard of Fireside. That old Dan Aykroyd stuff is great. How about the Bass-O-Matic?

How old are you JV? Firesign was a comedy troupe that was very popular in the 60's and 70's. They cut some albums...the plastic disc kind that used a needle. Some of the stuff I remember: "we're all bozos on this bus" and "don't crush the dwarf hand me the pliers". Doesn't sound funny? There were...uh....humor enhancers back then. Then EVERYTHING seemed funny. SCTV was second city TV and was another comedy troupe. They actually had a show on late Saturday night. We would activate the enhancers and then settle in for an evening of SCTV, SNL, and Monty Python. It was fun...really fun. We would just bust a gut all night long and wake up with sore abs because of it. I played in a band back then so I would sometimes have a gig, but my friends would always be waiting for me. There were no recordings so my friends would reenact anything I missed, which was sometimes funnier than the show. We all felt like we were king of the hill back then and everything was so damn funny. Somewhere along the lifeline you lose the ability to just laugh endlessly like we did, and that is regrettable.
