I was thinking the same thing about being 180 degrees out. Plug is out and I have tried to align the marks in the way described but both will not even come close to being aligned at same time. I am thinking maybe I am gonna have to take the timing chain off and turn just the cam. Is that what you are thinking? When the marks are aligned as they are now the valves are on the high lobe and the piston is on TDC. Checked the TDC with a wire in the plug hole. When it reached top that is when the mark on dipstick side was perfectly aligned and the timing chain marks are 180 out.
I am mechanically inclined just not on these scooters. Have always fixed my own cars until all this new stuff started coming out on them. lol

I am trying to do my valve adjustment by how it shows on here and I think I have a slight problem. I have turned the crank numerous times lining up the timing marks on the chain (numerous = probably about 30 times 1 turn at a time and checking the other side) and can't get the marks on the opposite side to line up (that's a lot of getting up and down for an old fart like me lmao). So I reached from underneath the scooter and turned the crank to line up the marks on the side where the oil dip stick is and when I did the timing mark on the chain sprocket was on opposite side of the mark on the housing. If I am thinking right does that mean my timing is off? Any and all help would be appreciated. (Linhai Motor)
