Did a full days work on the 250B today. Replaced the fuel lines along with a new fuel filter and vacuum hoses along with a new Dr Pulley Variator with 13 Gram sliders. When I opened up the variator cover it looked like a grease factory. It was so thick it was even on the belt. Had a bad shake to the back end during take off. The main reason I pulled it down today was that and the fact that I had a water leak that had to be addressed. Found the water leak at the drain screw on the pump. Hey Earthman I finally got the pics of the Engine for you. [lol] New Variator I was thinking of replacing the belt, but I am not sure what size to get. The belt was marked as a Gates Power Belt #856 - 23 and no other numbers. Shouldn't there be another number at the end?

I am sorry if this offends anybody but I just had to vent my frustrations.

Since Friday evening I will be doing a lot more Scooting around on my 250B. My little truck was rear ended Friday evening by some guy that was in a hurry to go see his son play T-Ball. Leaving me with just my Scooter as my only transportation. Have to wait till tomorrow to get a copy of the police report and contact his insurance company to find out what they are gonna do about it. Thankfully nobody was hurt.

I have dealt with them and had great response time. Shipping was good and quick. I purchased my 2 front headlight assemblies and both front turn lights for my 54B. They are a lot cheaper on their prices than the roketa parts department, unfortunately tho they do not carry the body plastics.

Hopefully this helps. On my 54B the fuel pump is mounted on the frame below the gas tank under the floorboard on the right hand side. The fuel filter is between the tank and pump between the skid plate bottom and gas tank. It is installed flat with the vacuum inlet looking up.

First off let me say Welcome to the boards Getter. I have been reading your posts on buying a Scoot and found several of your questions interesting. Honestly I wish you better luck with KillerMotorSports than I have right now. I ordered 2 small items from their Garage Sale list last Monday. On Tuesday I get an Email from them stating a partial refund being one item was out of stock and still wondering which item it was lol. As of today I still have not received the other item from them. Oh did I mention I paid more for 3 day delivery than the items price combined. I will be contacting them tomorrow to find out what the hold up is. The Scoots your looking at all seem to be great scoots. I have the Roketa MC-54B-250 and am very HAPPY with it. I am a new owners as well, have only had mine a couple of months. I did not get mine new but rather from a Police Impound Auction. It had been wrecked and the whole front parts were damages but with some internet searching and getting the plastic panels back on it I won't complain of the price $400.00 + Parts about $450.00. It has great takeoff and is quite fast for me for what and where I ride it. So far just little errands around my area to save on my little truck.
Good Luck and Happy Shopping

Yes I have gotten several items from them. Purchased a windshield and one of those batteries. No problems with them.

Right now I personally wouldn't want to venture into Mexico. The drug cartels are causing alot of damage down there in the border towns. Harlingen is about 2 hours away from me and Brownsville is more like 3 to 3 and half hours away. Brownsville is the very bottom tip of Texas and is right on the border. Not sure what kind of work can be found down there. Oh it gets HOT here. i always say we have four seasons but they are more like Warm(Winter), Mildly Hot(Spring) Very Hot(Summer), Hot(Fall). The worst thing to get used to is the humidity. Along the coast most of the time the humidity runs between 55 to 75 percent. Also a lot of wind which is nice until it blows you away. Not trying to sound negative about Texas it has a lot of Diversity in all the different parts. Any type of food you want you can find. Lots of bar-b-que place and Mexican restaurants. There's also all kinds of oriental, greek, cajun, italian just anything you want.
Johnboy; Yes Austin is great for finding jobs. That seems to be where every one wants to go, it also has a lot to do there. Not to mention the surrounding towns are more college based and OMG the women are great.

Yeah I think I was just to tired and hurting yesterday. Went out first thing this morning and it only took one time to get it right. Then I was gonna do the rich/lean on carb but I couldn't get to the screw on the bottom. I didn't have a short enough screwdriver nor a flex shaft driver. My son brought me an angle drive ratchet type screwdriver this evening so tomorrow I am gonna tackle the carb. Neat thing was after I got the valves done it made a huge difference. Just one little tick on the starter and it cranked right up, unlike before having to hit the starter 5 or 6 times to get it to start. Then I did the coolant and now I have a small problem with a drop of water from the drain bolt.I think I may have to put a little silicone on it.

The bike has been running and I will try it again as you mention this morning. I will work with it. It's kinda a shame they didn't put both marks on same side tho to make it a little easier. lol
I will report after I get (as Larry the cable Guy says) "Get Er Done"

Alley; The thing was running but struggling at around 50MPH and that was about all i was gonna get out of her. I intended on just doing the basics and my own checklist so I would know what had been done to the scoot. I believe somebody tinkered with it that didn't know what they were doing. The timing chain and gear looks new and they also replaced a few other things that are minor. Like the 20 amp fuse next to the battery they changed to a 30 amp and then zip tied it to the frame under the lower running board, so if I ever needed to replace that fuse I would have had to remove the running board. I am gonna fix that as well but for now I wanna address the timing issue. I know that motors will run 180 degrees out but really sluggish and not with the over all power they should have.
