Greetings -- have been lurking for a while, and come on bended knee for your sage advice and wise counsel!
Purchased an Apollo Ani 250 (partially disassembled) in 2009. Owner swore "all the parts are there -- you just have to put it back together!" (I'll buy your swampland in Florida, too...) I am finally getting to it, and have four electrical questions.
FULL DISCLOSURE -- I have scoured the board as best I can to make sure I am not asking what has already been answered. The scoot has a CFMoto engine, and I have looked at a number of wiring diagrams (including the CFMOTO 250 CLONE file in the Library here), and still have some questions. I will always try to treat your time as the precious resource it is...
(1) Where does the fuse box connect to?
From this discussion I know that the fuse box does go with my bike (thanks for the photo, Cruiser!) Here's a photo of my fuse box and connector:
I have found nothing on the wiring harness (or elsewhere on the bike) that fits this connector. But this leads to my second question:
(2) When I got the bike, one set of wires had been cut. Just as the wiring harness descends from the front fairing and turns to head back to the engine compartment, it splits into two strands. The top strand has been cut:
...leaving six unconnected wires. The fuse box connector has six pins, so is my mystery solved?
(3) Since each plastic molex connector appears (?) to be unique, I have been working under the assumption that if a replacement part I have purchased (i.e. new CDI) fits into a connector coming off the wiring harness (and I mean it
perfectly fits, such that tabs on either connector interlock correctly), then the two are meant for each other, even if the wire colors may not match perfectly. Am I right?
(4) And finally, with the exception of the fuse box, I have been able to make connections to everything on the main wiring harness save for save for the last connector (i.e. the longest final strand, at the very end of the wiring harness). Here's a photo:
The connector on the right connects to the taillight assembly; the one on the left (I have looped it around to get it into the picture) is a nine pin connector, with 8 wires connected to it. Again, I cannot find anything to which this should attach. Here are all the other connections, correctly connected (or so it appears to me):
Apologies if I am being thick...I don't profess to have a lot of skill reading wiring diagrams, and I have done my best to trace everything via colors...
Again, many thanks in advance...
