I really don't understand the need for a debate. Both scooters and motorcycles have their place. A lot of driving factors boil down to what a person can afford. Personally I ride both. I have my Harley's for speed and long ride comfort ( My FLHTC), I use a scooter for local runs. Even toy with my mini bike now and then. Heck one of the IB Compellers even got a trophy from a bike show last year in the trike class. ( Boy was the owner of a Goldwing pissed!) But, that's another story.

Thanks, Lefty. The speed would be a factor for sure. My IB Ruckus type never got over 45 and it would shake you to pieces then until I balanced the wheels. The rear axle appears narrow in the pix too. I am not considering one but with being snow bound I have been doing scooter research on the web for entertsainment. Also they push the engine as being a Honda GY6 and that is misleading. I believe that Hoda designed the original gy6 but no longer has the patent on them. After my encounter with the IB 150 bad tranny I am sort of burned out on Chinese scoots. We are going to tear her down this summer and follow David Sr.s suggestion about the bearings. Once fixed she will go on the market. My mechanic owns an IB with the same problem so he will do the wrenching, I will be the helper. For trikes I think your Burgy conversion is the way to go. IB is good if you are good at wrenching which I am not! No offense meant, Jim. Just my IB experience all way round left me feeling negative aboutthe company in general. No offense taken at all, Wolf. I went with IB a year ago because of the 300s. I learned very quickly all about the problems with the 150s and the reverse issues. In my opinion, Ice Bear has, and still does, a lot more than other companys when it comes to trying to help with that issue. Most of those machines are out of warranty now, but they still try and provide parts. There are other items on these machines that I really don't care for, one of them being the trunk they put on the 300. It is a generic trunk and doesn't help the looks of the machine at all and does have a rattle issue. All and all I think they make a very decent product, esp. when you consider the cost. In my opinion, the 150 with reverse was a bad design. They should have redesigned it like the 300 and put reverse in the differential instead of the tranny. Instead they elected to remove it all together. I was told by my rep, that the designers felt that reverse wasn't needed in the 150 because it was light enough to push back wards. That is fine in most cases, but what about those that want or need that capability, because of a handicap? I guess they are stuck buying a 300 for that option. I personally like the 300 above the 150, but not everyone can afford to spend the extra money. Jim/Owner Rapid Repair

The way the Packers are playing and how they played against the Bears this year I would say the Packers have a better than even chance of winning. I think the Steelers will kill the Jets.

I emailed this guy and he did respond back quickly. This kit is for a single headlight system. If you have 2 headlights you will need 2 kits. He is supposed to be calling me this week, I will ask about being high/low lights. I have noticed in a couple other places that there is a single beam and a dual beam bulb. Jim

Only thing I heard was last year, there was a post on another forum saying the ones with the tops were really hard to handle in any kind of wind. I also know that Roketa was selling them at one time, but quit selling them.

Seems because of the limited space we deal with on the Magnums, our tire options are not abundant. My local tire guy can't find anything close to what some are looking for. I did find this link, maybe it will help. www.golfcarttrader.com/tire_pics_/12_Low_Profile.htmJim/Owner Rapid Repair

I am too damn old old to run beside anything. I am just like the old bull on the hill talking to the young bull. Young bulls, says "let's run down this hill and get us a cow" the old bull says "lets walk and get them all".

Jim, Biggest problem I see is that the makers of the better scoots specifically prohibit their dealers from selling "in the crate". That and you run the risk of really pissing off an existing "franchised" dealer when you ship into their area, even if you fully prep the bike. Yep I have ben down the franchise road, it is definately full of pot holes. Jim

Thanks Guys! I am trying to put this together. Seems the consensus from those that I have talked to and the replys I have gotten, including a couple emails, this might be a good thing to do. Right now I have a distributor with a bunch of 150s left over from 2008 and 2009 that has a special on them, I may try those as a test case and see what happens. Problem with that is it is limited models and colors and is first come first served. More later.
I also want to thank you guys for the kind words about how I do business! I try hard to make sure my customers are happy and get what they pay for.

The reason I brought up the pad issue is that I had it happen. Alley's comment on the roller weights is where I would check next. I really hate chasing noises myself, but that is the nature of the beast we deal with.
Front panel removal, Fenders and such, is a pain. The trike panels are put together backwards. ie from the rear to the front. You have to start at the rear of the trike, taking off panels, to gain access to the mounting hardware for the fornt panels.
Glad to hear it is all ready for her to take her safety course. Tell her she needs to remember she is on a trike which will act differently than a 2 wheeler and some of the stuff they talk about in safety courses will not apply to her. Example: leaning into curves with a two wheeler, not to do with a trike.
Good luck to her and hopes she does well.

$7,000 for a 300 scooter? I just can't see it. You could get 2 250cc for that and have change for lots of gas.

I am thinking about adding 2 wheel scooters to my trike web sales. Have a couple of questions for everyone concerning this.
1. Do you prefer to order and pay for your purchase online, or would you prefer to talk to a real person before ordering and order that way? At the moment when I sell a trike it is by phone. The customer calls and check with Ice Bear to see if the color and model they want is available. Then call the customer back and finish the transaction. The reason for this is I see a lot of sites that you must choose 3 colors when you order and hope you get your first choice.
2. Do you prefer to see shipping included in your price or listed separately?
3. Would you buy an extended power train warranty and if so what would you think would be a fair price?
4. What do you think should be covered in an extended warranty?
5. Anything else that bugs you about online sales?
Thanks
