If the engine rpms were higher it would go as fast as he wants even if the variator was locked so belt would not go to top/ I say the engine lacks the ooomp to go faster. even another 500 rpms should be very possible with current set up. Max torque is supposed to be at 7700 rpm. I'm getting to 7500 RPM's. That's not enough?

I know it's a pain but disassemble the variation and pull the belt,, put the halves together and see if there's an 1/8th inch or so of the boss face not letting the halves come together I already had apart. Still waiting. Variator actually touches.

Found out it is NOT at the top. It is still 1-/inch or so from top of malossi variator.

Fun fact: these are fake Dr pulley sliders. Measured at 12.86 for the set of 13 gram sliders.
Using the tuning kit from Prima. Those are exactly 13 and 15 so 3 of each gets 14 grams measured.
So, got into it. I'll try it at 14 gram rollers.
The clutch pulley, I decided to remove the needle bearing to clean it and the outer bearing. Well, I ruined the needle bearing. I have be coming. I cleaned the outer bearing extremely well then repacked the outer bearing. Now, once I get that all repaired I have to find where my gear oil is leaking. I bumped it coming home one day. But pretty hard. I am afraid I might have to open it all up and replace the gasket. That won't be fun.
Maybe it's just a bolt. But I doubt it.
OK, update, the gear oil fill screw fell out. Lol. Fixed. Waiting on the needle bearing.
It's be fine if it got a bit warmer.

Only person I know that might have any idea about alley oop would be JR. I an too damn lazy to go back and read thru this god awful long thread....so....45mph at how many rpms? And is the belt at the top of the variator ? Depending on your weight you may have a hp problem. If the rpms are low, they need to be at least 7500 rpms when wound out. The only way possible to raise the rpms at wide open is to lessen the load on your engine, how ever you choose to do that. I have the belt riding all the way out on the variator. The RPM's are 7500. I'm going to go heavier. If it moves the speedometer up 5mph. I'll call that a win. I'm trying it tomorrow.

OK, so I got the bogging gone. But still not going post 45mph. I am running a #110 or #108. It isn't marked. Lol, so I last tried #115. So same results. Went back to what came with carb. Should I increase the weight. Go even higher. I'm at 13 gram sliders. Maybe try 14 gram rollers? See if it gets a bit higher in mph?
What do you all think?

I live in Granite City. Downtown St Louis is 15 mins away maybe 20, no highways. Getting together on a nice day on a weekend would be cool. Not a drinker and why would you on something that most people don't see you on when you're driving it?

It was a slight bit warmer today, with temperatures in the mid forties. I had a few short errands to run and the sun was shining so out came the Bashan Eagle again. It is so easy to pick up a gallon of milk with the trunk under the seat and the leg shields to keep the wind off me. I always enjoy the trip to town when I go on two wheels and being able to do it two days before Christmas is even better. leg shields? Photos? Do one change and check results.

I am thinking it's the starter, it's so very cold, but yours never did this before. Has it been this cold ever before?
Ever since I have tried to start my Lance or my Honda in colder than 30 degrees or so it start making the squealing noise, but if it's warmer than this no noises.

Hi, I uploaded a video. Thanks. This just sounds like the valves need minor adjustment. They are slightly loose and as start to go that noise goes away. I think you need a valve adjustment. Check the library. Not sure what your scooter needs for the intake as exhaust valves.

Hi, It was raining here the past week. I hope that tomorrow it will not rain, so i can make a video. Another thing i noticed yesterday (weather was a little cold), when i started the scooter when engine is cold (after night), i heard something like a squealing noise when i hit the starter button. It was only for a second or two, and after that the scooter started OK. It didn't do that again, when the engine was warm. Anyone familiar with that squealing noise? Mine does this when it's really cold. Did it last Friday 20° and less seems to do this.
