Of course owning a beater for a car has it's problems. I just had to spend the money I saved in gas replacing a bad rear wheel bearing and power steering pump. Now the Body Control Module is acting up. It's several hundred dollars, plus installation. I'm glad though that the Chinese scooter was so reliable this past year. Just gas and oil for the 2,500 miles I put on it. At 6,100 miles I'm sure it has at least another 100,000 miles of life left on it. I'll go through another two or three cars in that time. right on. I rode my big bore qmb 5000 miles off pocket change in 2011. I just saw a woman at the grocery with one little bag and she got in a huge GMC Yukon and had a devil of a time even getting it out of the parking space. those things are obscene. USA is the only country in the world where people get in something like that to run even the smallest errand.

Americans love their cars so much they will pay it. Gas is going to have to be much higher IMO before they start getting out of them.

Riding slow like that is actually more difficult so she did good. Oh, you might want to put some air in those tires

Those are some sweet lookin bikes. Is CF Moto a high end Chinese make or.....?
M13 has a sweet Yamaha Cygnus 125 over there in Taiwan, too bad the automobile industry here has so much pressure on the bike makers that they wont/cant import all those cool scoots we see all around the world to USA.

I can take the floorboard off this one on the bench and take more detailed photos. You may need a donor scooter to hack stuff off the frame for this, i passed up a free frame yesterday.
What I tried to show in the photos is that on a QMB motor when load is applied yes the shock compresses but that rubber bumper also compresses against that crossmember. There is so much rubber on the way these are mounted because the engine is actually the rear suspension swingarm too and without all the rubber the mounting points on the case will break off..one big pothole and crack your motor is laying in the road...and so are you. I have seen guys who race use a solid bar in place of the shock/spring in the back for traction and some who have tried solid mounting for the motormount but this has led to broken cases on more than one occasion. Its very unsafe for any scooter.
The engine mount with bolts on the engine above is for sale. $40 free shipping.

NO THEY WILL BREAK! ive seen this tried before. Thanks tmec for your input. Was hoping that wouldn't be the answer but I did think that was a possibility.....Another thought along this line is using shouldered bolts that tighten on the shoulder and not pinch the rubber mount so much that it stresses the aluminum mounting tab. Any input on something along that arrangement? the stock motor mount has rubber in it too as well as the bushings in the case. There is lots of rubber on the way these mount up as you can see. the way it bolts up has a rubber bumper that presses against a crossmember on the frame. some just have the rubber bumper that presses against that crossmember and some have a bolt that goes through the bumper and crossmember Attachments:

seems rigid mounting would make for a hell of a bumpy ride.
