Well docs, tax time is around the corner. For most of you, that means new scoots or modding your scoot. Since I got my scoot a few months ago, my woman used to poke fun about it, but since we have been getting out and taking rides, its growing on her. Now she demands one of her own. We have decided on two different scoots, each with their pros and cons. What I need from you, fellow docs, is your opinions about them. Both are 150cc. pics below with brief descriptions.

the first one is quite obvious. it is very stylish and boasts a 9.8 hp 150cc. she loves the style and the color. shes never operated a motorcycle so shes leery on her skills but i can slowly teach her. also she will be using the one we choose to take our 5 yr old to his preK every morning, as well as ride with me when i go somewhere.



this next one is a nice one, a little more expensive, but affordable. it is good because she wont have to worry about balance, and will be easier for her to take our kid to school. also if mine breaks down it will be easier to ride this one as apposed to the other which is pink and girly. plus its got a neat style from a scoot ive always loved, the ruck, if i could afford one i would have got one off the rip but, this is next best. though its a clone its still nice.

Very good choices, but since your wife does not know how to ride and will be carrying a young passenger, for everyones safety I would go with the Trike. NO LEANING on turns, NO BALANCEING at stops you just sit straight up, actually Drive it like a car.

yeah i was thinking the same thing. we just thought of the 2 wheeled option because its alot cheaper BUT i do agree on the safety issue. bad part is the trunk is an option and wont come with one. still a nice one though. i will be picking up her scoot in about a month or two. she told me that she will sell all of my tools if i try to mod hers at all lol she wants it bone stock no fiddling with anything. i told her though that it is inevitable that something will need tinkering with sooner or later. also i will have to do the break in for her as she will just get on it and go lol. im still going to train her on mine so she has a good idea on how to control one and the dos and donts. thanks for your input alley.

how much did your vip trunk cost? if i have to get one for her i might as well get a quality one. or maybe i could just strap a small travel trunk on there lol

The VIP trunks are expensive but I have a Chad Trunk they are very strong that I orginally bought for mine here is a picture of it on my Trike. If you want it I can sell it to you cheap.

thats pretty nice there, does it have padding on the front side of it to serve as a backrest? do you think it will mound on the trike im going to get my woman? also will you still have it in a few months by time i get my return? are those lights or just a reflective sticker? also how much lol

Actually the CHAD is a very strong and stronger than the one I have on(HEHE). It it just a red reflector no lights like the VIP. But you could always by strips of LEDS and wire them up to the running light wire and brake wire so when you put on your running lights it will light up and when you squeeze the brake they Brighten up just like your regular lights that are on there now. It is very easy to do and I can run you through it, the leds you can get really cheap.

Now It comes with the mount so if the back of the rukus has the grates like on your scoot it will be no problem which it looks like it does. But if it doesn't that is also no big deal you can get a piece of Plywood spray it black to go the back rail and bolt that down and then the trunk on that. It has padding on the TOP half of the trunk let me take a picture of it so you can see it. It is actuall brand new just used it for a few months before I bought the one with the lights built in it but the VIP is not as strong as the CHAD33 it has two keys. Also with the chads you can close it and NOT lock it and open without using a key just push the release lever in. The new one I have you always have to use the key to open it.

thats a great question sprocket lol. on some of the pics ive noticed they are on the wrong side, maybe they took a pic and did a mirror image flip so it aims the other way and makes it look like its on the wrong side? why would they waste their time doing that?

OK so i decided to let my woman ride my bike to see how she felt about it. i know what your going to say, you cant get the feel of things just riding for an hour 1 time in your life. well about 30 mins into trying to teach her how to ride, and explaining different things and the DOs and DONTs, i realized i should have earlier recorded a video. i did however towards the end of her riding around shoot a short video.

She did good.. remember use BOTH hands to brake...gliding to a stop is a little rough in traffic

Riding slow like that is actually more difficult so she did good. Oh, you might want to put some air in those tires

yeah actually funny story, i went on a ride earlier to get a sander i loaned somebody and i caught a giant staple in my rear tire. got home pulled it out and sure enough it started loosing air. so i had to plug the tire. GREAT thing i have a tubeless tire i was grief stricken when i seen it because i thought i had a tube. glad i was wrong. i pumped it up with a bicycle pump so it didnt get alot of air. was just happy to have it back on the road then she wanted to give it a try. glad she didnt fall over lol.
