Vespa 250 GTSie - $3000
2006 Red Vespa 250 GTSie with windshield, rear trunk and foot mat. Never dropped or wrecked, all service up to date and low miles at 6 K. Scooter is gently used never as a commute or daily rider.
Local pickup only. $3000 or best price. If its as nice as she claims in our telephone conversations I am buying it. Its long been one of my dream machines. Not really a fan or 'come get me red' but at that price I cant pass it up. If the exhaust recall has not been done I can talk her down a tad on that however she claims its been regularly serviced at the dealer since new, has had a new back tire put on it so they should have done the exhaust recall at that time. She claims to be a freelance writer and bought the bike a few years ago in more flush times as a pleasure driver only. Is in a financial bind now and needs to sell. I cannot really find any serious issues other than the exhaust recall: modernvespa.com/forum/wiki-gts-250NADA states $3900 average retail on this year and model. I see LX 150s for $2500-$3500 or more around here. It was the first yr for FI but I cant find any problems online.

I had a 250 Honda Reflex here that I was trying to diagnose a fuel smell problem It would run 70+ and the temp gauge never went above 1/4. Not much reserve power but it would cruise 70-75 all day long. my best friend had a new 450 rebel in 1987 man i loved it sure wish they made those now.

Alley, what does this mean? Maximum Power (kw/r/min):14kw/6500r/min(1±6) 1 kilowatt = 1.34102209 hp so its 18.76 hp@6500 rpm plus or minus 100-600 rpm

Thanks. Speaking of Goldenvale, they are a bunch of crooks. I know someone who bought a crated scoot from a Goldenvale dealer and it never came. He used a method of payment such that the money could not be recovered. $580 total loss. MODIFY: Actually it came damaged and he refused it. It went back and they never sent another one and never gave him any refund whatsoever either. Point is, watch how you pay Goldenvale because if they see a chance to rip you off, they will. dealernewsblog.com/tag/roketa/Anyway, yes I was thinking the valve adjustments would be much easier on a vertical engine as well.

An other big expense people often skip looking at is the price of a car. A scooter could allow them to keep the old car longer not only saving the price of gas but delaying the purchase of another car. Last year at this time I could hardly walk due to the bad knee, this year I have no excuse and will be riding a lot more. john Thats a great point I never thought of it that way

What always trips my trigger is to see some ditzy brawd pull up to the school she lives 2 blocks from, in a 14mpg $60,000 suv and sit there idling with the air or heat on to wait for the kid or kids so she can haul them the 2 blocks home. Then they get on their bikes and ride a 1/2 mile to their friends house to play after school. Kind of like the hipocrits who dress to kill on sunday for church just so every one see's their new outfit. Its them kind of people who are causing the shortage of gas and the prices to rise so all of us on social security can pay thru the arse to go to town. john Amen lol.
