Ya, I paint on my scooter every year or two.. It just keeps it looking newer. I use blue sparkly fingernail polish on the blue paint- black 1800 degree paint on engine and exhaust system, and use some blue paint on forks due to paint peeled.. lol But it really does good to paint it every two years.

I asked roketa to send me 3 screws to hold the disk on wheel + new rear brake pads on the MC-13-250. They cancelled my order.. I guess if I needed the whole brake system, they would have sent it. I went through Parts for Less and got brake pads.. Roketa does not evidently sell brake parts like mastercylinders unless sell mastercylinder, lever, line, caliper and shoes all together for $230... Ripoff..

I might try Ace Hardware to see if they carry something simular. I know they will not carry the exact screw, but they carry metric screws, water piping screws, ect.. A metric screw with maybe two small washers.

Ya, my Bali 250 is pretty much the sameway, unless parked. I camp out and can pick up stations but when riding, they fade in and out. This one guy has a Harley up the road, listens to loud rock and roll while riding. His Harley cost around $20K and my Bali 250 cost $1.5 K.. You get what you pay for, to some great extent..lol

Under 3., the State of Missouri only requires one good set of working brakes for a motorcycle.. Crazy laws..
Chapter 307 Vehicle Equipment Regulations Section 307.170
August 28, 2012
Other equipment of motor vehicles--violations, penalty. 307.170. 1. Signaling devices: Every motor vehicle shall be equipped with a horn, directed forward, or whistle in good working order, capable of emitting a sound adequate in quantity and volume to give warning of the approach of such vehicle to other users of the highway and to pedestrians. Such signaling device shall be used for warning purposes only and shall not be used for making any unnecessary noise, and no other sound-producing signaling device shall be used at any time.
2. Muffler cutouts: Muffler cutouts shall not be used and no vehicle shall be driven in such manner or condition that excessive and unnecessary noises shall be made by its machinery, motor, signaling device, or other parts, or by any improperly loaded cargo. The motors of all motor vehicles shall be fitted with properly attached mufflers of such capacity or construction as to quiet the maximum possible exhaust noise as completely as is done in modern gas engine passenger motor vehicles. Any cutout or opening in the exhaust pipe between the motor and the muffler on any motor vehicle shall be completely closed and disconnected from its operating lever, and shall be so arranged that it cannot automatically open, or be opened or operated while such vehicle is in motion.
3. Brakes: All motor vehicles, except motorcycles, shall be provided at all times with two sets of adequate brakes, kept in good working order, and motorcycles shall be provided with one set of adequate brakes kept in good working order.
This is a bit insanity..lol

Here are two of the craziest things I have read of the 2012 Missouri State Statutes.
Chapter 304 Traffic Regulations Section 304.033
August 28, 2012
Recreational off-highway vehicles, operation on highways prohibited, exceptions--operation within streams and rivers prohibited, exceptions--license required for operation, exception. 304.033. 1. No person shall operate a recreational off-highway vehicle, as defined in section 301.010, upon the highways of this state, except as follows:
(1) Recreational off-highway vehicles owned and operated by a governmental entity for official use;
(2) Recreational off-highway vehicles operated for agricultural purposes or industrial on-premises purposes;
(3) Recreational off-highway vehicles operated within three miles of the operator's primary residence. The provisions of this subdivision shall not authorize the operation of a recreational off-highway vehicle in a municipality unless such operation is authorized by such municipality as provided for in subdivision (5) of this subsection;
(4) Recreational off-highway vehicles operated by handicapped persons for short distances occasionally only on the state's secondary roads;
3. A person operating a recreational off-highway vehicle on a highway pursuant to an exception covered in this section shall have a valid operator's or chauffeur's license, except that a handicapped person operating such vehicle pursuant to subdivision (4) of subsection 1 of this section, but shall not be required to have passed an examination for the operation of a motorcycle. An individual shall not operate a recreational off-highway vehicle upon * a highway in this state without displaying a lighted headlamp and a lighted tail lamp. A person may not operate a recreational off-highway vehicle upon a highway of this state unless such person wears a seat belt. When operated on a highway, a recreational off-highway vehicle shall be equipped with a roll bar or roll cage construction to reduce the risk of injury to an occupant of the vehicle in case of the vehicle's rollover.
This statute gives a handicapped person permission to ride or drive a offroad vehicle of secondary roads without a permit or driver license. It even spells out motorcycle as prefered by the handicapped.. I am disabled and could ride a motorcycle but chose a scooter for safety reasons.. lol

Right now, making sure my 250cc Bali Scooter passes inspection for registration in Missouri... I changed the brake shoes on the rear, made a new seat cover, changed brake fluid, infront of the guages cracked so glued together and glued material on top to hold together, noticed on front was only holding by 2 screws and others broke off, changed oil and gear oil, left mirrir cracked and finally shattered- fixed with superglue and electrical tape.. Will order new mirrors and two front end pieces. Should pass inspection right now, if mirror holds up.. lol...
Reading something interesting under Missouri State Statutes-laws.... All vehicles are to have 2 sets of working brakes-rear and front brakes, except for motorcycles that only have to have one good brake.
A motorcycle can be riden by a handicapped person on the secondary roads that has not pass a permit test. This motorcycle can be a off road vehicle such as a dirt motorcycle.
. Brakes: All motor vehicles, except motorcycles, shall be provided at all times with two sets of adequate brakes, kept in good working order, and motorcycles shall be provided with one set of adequate brakes kept in good working order.
4) Recreational off-highway vehicles operated by handicapped persons for short distances occasionally only on the state's secondary roads;

I read a article online the said, it is against federal law, for the DMV to deny a license on the bases of disability. That under the Disability Act that the license bureau has to give reasonable accomodations to disabled individuals..
See I am not really modifying the scooter, but changing positions of the front brake to accommodate me so I can use both rear and front brake. Still a chinese 250 master cylinder and brake lever. Just attached in a different area.

Well, the right foot is bad too. I mean, after the stroke it is hard to tell if giving to much pressure also. That leave the left hand lever.. The left foot in stopping is there to hold up the scooter. So I can't brake with the left foot and hold up the scooter at the sametime. Combining brake levers is dangerous because if the master cylinder goes out, well I would have no back up system to stop me. The only way is to have two independent brakes on the scooter.
They make a two lever system that is bulky and would have to tear up the scooter to fit it to the scooter. It also cost $1900 for just the lever system. Not meaning to insult the creator of this braking system, but I am on SSDI, don't have that type of money, and this seems like highway robbery to me.. My Bali 250 only cost $1700 new..
Now changing the scooter brakes to work with one hand, is not really modifying the scooter, because it is still chinese parts used in doing this. The only thing being done, is moving them around.. The mirror would need cutting down too. About 3 inches. or the other side raised..

I got a permit to ride in Missouri for the License Bureau.. The permit allows me to ride in daylight hours with no passengers. To get a full class M license, I have to pass a riding test. I have put 6200 miles on my 250 scooter since owning it new, but I have not taken the riden test due to suffering a severe stroke in 1981. The stroke is still noticable..but I give throttle fine with the right hand but the right hand sometimes gets difficult to open to grab the front brake. So I have been practicing, but practicing might not help. My other solution is to modify the brakes so the right brake pulls front and rear brakes. I was reading up on disabled motorcycle riders. The motorcycle in general, is made for a normal person and therefore not many places make adaptive equipment for a disabled person. Most disabled people that want to ride a motorcycle have to modify it themselves or have someone mechanically inclined do it for them. Me working on my own scooter, well I know enough about mechanics and mechanical drawing to create a front braking system. In a automobile, for instance, a disabled driver can use certain equipment that a normal person can not use. Like the steering knob that allows a person whom had a stroke or has one arm, to operate a vehicle with one arm. In most states, this is only legal if you need it. So in the same instance, it should be the same with a motorcycle. If a person needs certain equipment to operate a motorcycle safely, well the license bureau should accommodate the disable individual. Now I have given considerable thought to this: I want to buy a $75 rear brake system. The rear brake lever would be on the bottom and the front lever and master cyllinder would be connected on top of the rear master cyllender. The front brake line is not long enough to reach the left side so I would take the new rear brake line and connect to front caliper. The new rear caliper I would switch out with old caliper. And finally, I would have to cut the new brake lever to be shorter then the old lever. This would allow 2 fingers to cover the rear lever and 2 fingers to cover the front lever. That would let me let up if given to much braking power to tires. Than practice riding and take the motorcycle riden test. Any thoughts would appreciated... Attachments:

Well, this is good.. For along time, I have heard of chinese scoots 250s getting 10,000 miles, since a 10,000 mile club was started. But it is good that people like you, on a MC54B have made it last to 25,000 miles. This was all I was referring too. That others needed to post miles on Chinese scooters. I was out riding 70 mph again, on Expressway 54.. But like the guy said above you, Chinese scooter engines may last 50,000 miles if taken care of. I think also, some may abuse their scooters, push it to the extreme to often that it ruins parts that would normally stay good.

I agree that lifting a leg verses sliding a foot across, is more difficult on some people. I had a severe stroke at age 16 and it would be harder on me. But I have riden a motorbike- hi and low gear with neutral in the middle. Clutch.. Went 30 mph.. I used the rear brake under the right foot. That was back in 2000 to 2001..
