I have a 172mm engine- same as the Helix.. You can try cleaning the clutch plate, because it gets a little black stuff on it from the belt. That causes the belt to slip. I use rubbing alcohol to clean the clutch area and rag, since rubbing alcohol is fairly cheap and dries fast. We use it to clean electronics too, like tape recorders..

Can perhaps findout what motorcycle it is copied from. I mean, the Chinese make a copy of the Honda Rebel 250.. The rim may be the same size. My engine is copied from the Helix 250 engine- MEANING my engine has many parts that go to the Helix from Honda. My body is a Roketa Bali 250- copied from the Honda Foresight 250.. So perhaps windshields, body parts, ect are interchangable.

;D I bought my Roketa MC-13-250 scooter in February of 2008- roughly 5 years ago. Since than, my scooter has went through 2 windshields, 1 front tire, 2 rear tires, one rear rim, 2 starters, 3 headlights, one rectifier, a new waterpump, 2 boots on front shocks, 3 batteries, 3 spark plugs. The reclifier was good still and was battery, the rim was bent by Goodyear and not the Chinese fault, one windshield broke when wind knock it over. These type of things occure sometimes. But mainly I put $500 into this scooter to last 5 years.
In this 5 year period, I have riden my scooter 6150 miles. Not alot but can be explained. First year gas prices were nearly $4 per gallon and I put 1450 miles on scooter but saved gas for wife to get back and forth to doctors, second year was at 1500 miles and recession hit, third year moved to Belle MO and did 800 miles, fourth year done another 700 miles and was down having foot operated on, 5th year 1500 miles and moved to Holts Summit MO.. Hot in the summer time 100+ is too hot to ride out of town.
I believe that people ride scooters anytime they want in the summer time, whether hot or not. I don't like riding in the heat unless going to store to get cola or milkshakes. lol.. But I don't ride far in the heat, because if the engine becomes to hot it could do irreversable damage to the engine. So I am more of a early Spring and Fall rider with some Winter riding too. Which would ruin a engine faster- too run mildly in the summer and take distant trips in the Spring, Fall and Winter or too run during summer months and take a chance of overheating this Chinese scooter and destroying engine?
Most of you could ride further than me, but my problems are due to not having alot of money for gasoline, a operation, moving to new areas, ect.. I should have tried to put 3000 miles per year instead of 1500.. My engine is still running perfect thought. Great condition..
See, I am still not convinced that a person could not get 20,000 to 30,000 miles out of a Chinese 250cc scooter if well maintained. Most things done maintenance wise would have occured if were a Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, Kymco, ect.. What are your thoughts?
My belt and clutch are in good shape... cleaned dust out with rubbing alcohol due to fast drying.. We use it on electronics to clean too.

;D Rode 234 miles this past weekend.. It was alot of fun. Seeing other maxi scoots on the highway with me on my Bali 250.. Alot of motorcycles out.. It is another warmer then average winter again. Today we broke a new high record for Dec 3rd- 77 degrees. No snow yet for Missouri, warm for Dec... Good for riding, but bad for farming.. Attachments:

I bought a Bali 250 scooter from extreme-scooters.com in 2008. Still runs good, 6000 miles on it, rode 150 miles last week. Looking at putting 200 miles on it this weekend.. ;D It takes working on them to keep them running good. Don't mean changing parts, but checking fluids, checking for loose bolts, checking lights, ect.. One is expected to do this with any scooter.. Not just a Chinese model. Attachments:

;D My scooter has become quite squeeky. It is 4 years old and the shocks squeek. I tried spraying WD40 on them, but they still squeeked. I really like hearing my engine, to make sure everything is ok, but listening to the squeek makes it hard to hear other things. Is there any way to stop the squeek without replacing the shocks. Ya, Dave don't like refunding money once something is gone. I got my Roketa MC-13-250 scooter from Dave in perfect condition. But I notices a few things done wrong. Like the trucking company had no lift gate on it when delivered. Luckily my 3 boys, wife and I was there, to put the scooter on the ground gently. Otherwise the guy unloading it would have just dropped it on the ground from about 4 feet in the air. No liftgate and I paid $50 for liftgate service.. I imagine he does this to everyone.. I was lucky to have been there waiting on the truck. I can see how scooters get all banged up..

Ya, Roketa sometimes messes up on parts.. It really upset me when I wrote on the order form - Rear Rim for MC-13-250 and Roketa sent me the rear rim for the MC=54B... A $100 rim that would do nothing for me... Roketa did take the MC-54B rim back and sent the correct rim, since it was their fault, but it is the inconvenience that comes to play.

That is funny... Well, someone could be stealing a little... but really, you might be doing the math wrong... lol ( 3 gallons divided into 195 miles riden = 65 mpg... ) Another thought, is the scooter uses more gas when cold as posed to warmed up.. So if you only ride 3 miles to work, well warming up scooter may make it get less gas milage. Mine will get poorer gas milage in the winter verses the summer, due to warming up.

Hi, my scooter gets 65 to 70 mpg... Poor gas milage can be created by several things. 1. carb out of adjustment, 2. valve out of adjustment, 3. a fuel leak, ....

;D I have to agree with you, that my MC-13-250 has given me very few issues to worry about. Regular maintainance is required on any scooter- like tires, oil change, spark plug change, adjusting carb, ect.. But mine, has been dependable and a good scooter. Put 5700 miles on it and enjoyed it. People that don't do regular maintenance, will have problems down the road.. Do the maintenance and the run like champs.. Attachments:

With all the Arabs mad at the United States, well I would not be surprised if gas shot up to $10 per gallon. $3.75 here in Belle.

MPG

I checked milage with my truck. I rode 38 miles and drove the same route with my truck. Both came out exactly the same on the odometer. But my mph seems a tad off still- when I run 55 mph well my speed seems like 47 mph. Trucks and cars pass me more often. So I ride 65 mph and cars and trucks don't bother passing.

Ya, I ran across a guy that had a Linhia 150cc scooter and the miles read 19,000... But it might have been km verses miles.
