I see this comment more and more on these scooter forums. This is a Rocketa 54 250B with a horizontal engine. To me this is very confusing as I have a Rocketa 54 250(B) on the side panel. I look to the Rocket web site and find this to be true of them.

First the Rocketa MC-54-250(LJ4,L8Y)

Scroll down and look at the engine assembly. It looks to be a verticle engine.

Now to the Rocketa MC-54B-250(5RY)

Scroll down to the engine assembly and it is of the horizontal engine.

To me then it is proper for the people to say they have the 54B for the horizontal engine. I don't know why some have the 250B, mine does, and it is with a vertical engine.

Seems to me that Rocketa should have the proper designations for their products. Maybe there are different importers that use different designations from what Rocketa uses.

Thoughts from those more experienced than I am?

I know Bob my scoot is a mc-54-250b with the horizontal engine (5RY) but look at my tag under my seat and it reads 244cc engine (doesn't anyone at roketa know what their doing?) When I look for parts I alway start with 250cc linhai/yamaha, and I seem to get the right part

I often wonder who puts those decals on the side body panels. Is it Rocketa or the sellers, dealers, of the scooters. Look to the Rocketa pictures and they don't have decals on the side body panels. Maybe it is the dealers that are messing things up so badly.

Hey guys! Got the same problem. Got a 2007 MC 54 250B and was told, when I went to have the clutch rebuilt, that it was actually a 260cc. Didn't argue. As long as it goes when I blip the throttle, I'm a happy camper! Just turned over 12,000 on the clock!

I got a 244cc engine.. lol.. with the Roketa mc-13-250...
