I know there are a few Chinese scoots here. I havent had much of any problems with my ice bear PST150-7t. I have had only one issues when I was driving on a very bumpy surface and I thing the coil of something in the ignition came off and with Alleyoops help I figured it out. I am one of those people who do allot of research. I hear some say Chinese scoots are crap and fall appart. I say you get what you pay for .
If you were to get another scooter, would it be ICE BEAR or Japanese?

I would get another ICE BEAR for the price you cannot beat them. Now IF you are NOT mechanically inclined then I would not. But if you can handle some simple tools and follow direction you can get them to run and run and run. Take mine for example now my PST150H was one of the first ones they imported back in 2009. Had a couple of problems with the Rear Axle but I fixed them and it has been running ever since. It has 9200 on it right now and on any given day you can go hit the start button and it comes to life. To this day I have never had to clean the carb, if you use a good Fuel Filter nothing will get to the carb and clog any of the passages or jets. I use VISU fuel Filters and they are fantastic. It still has the same original battery, R/R, Stator and Pickup. I have performance CDI and Coil and a Iridium plug on it and a K&N Filter on a 4" stack. I have done a lot to mine and it really moves out smartly. Alleyoop
Here is what my PST150H Ice Bear Trike currently has it was a 149.6cc Motor now it is 182cc motor:
62mm BBK 60mm Stroker Crank
16/37 Hoca Tranny Gears – Original were 13/40 K&N Air Filter with a Short Stack SuperTrapp Muffler 1 1/4 Header Pipe 24mm Carb #122.5 Main Jet #38 Pilot Jet Peformance Coil/CDI Manual Choke Iridium Plug Prodigy Variator 12g Dr. Pulley Sliders 205/65-10 Kenda Load Tires-3"s taller than OEM 29 tooth Drive Sprocket-came with 24 tooth. DID 428 Pro V Series O-Ring Chain Givia 29" tall Windshield All Led bulbs Except the Headlights-I do not drive at night 4 way Flasher Turn Signal Beeper Relay for the Beeper connected to the Brakes VIP Trunk with Led lights Radio with SD card,MP3 connections

;D I have to agree with you, that my MC-13-250 has given me very few issues to worry about. Regular maintainance is required on any scooter- like tires, oil change, spark plug change, adjusting carb, ect.. But mine, has been dependable and a good scooter. Put 5700 miles on it and enjoyed it. People that don't do regular maintenance, will have problems down the road.. Do the maintenance and the run like champs.. Attachments:

Had my first issue the other day that partially stranded me. The central point of the noises were coming from the fan on the right side. I heard some metallic grinding and wining sound then it stalled. I don't know if the fan can cause these symptoms or not . What I do know is that this has to be minor.
Alley sure would love to see this preventive maint you mention other then checking bolt and hoses as well as oil

i have a "piece of china crap" at the beginning i had a few problems but i didnt know about these forums to ask for help. now i know what a easy fix it would have been had i been either more knowledgeable or been on here to ask .
when i bought "chrissy" she had 31 miles on her got her for $450 almost 2 1/2 yrs ago. she now has over 7,900 miles the only problem since then was a stator/magento died. Now "chrissy" was imported by Jonway but she was made at their Shanghai Schenke Motorcycle Company LTD plant, it seems this plant had better quality control, etc etc than any of their other plants.
If i ever get another scoot it would have to be a Shanghai Schenke model
everything on her is still stock well except new tires, brake pads, air/fuel lines, & a NGK plug. she was radar "gunned' on 4 runs 67,65,67,66 mph's. at a bit over 8K rpm's
hope this informs you a bit more NOT ALL CHINA SCOOTS ARE CRAP

Set aside for a moment that I am Dealer for Chinese Machines.
I was a mechanic long before I ever started selling machines. As a mechanic, I can tell you that if it has wheels it will break LOL. The chinese have come a long way in there quality, just like the Japanese have. In the not so distant past, everything that is being said about Chinese machines was said about Japanese machines. I contend that if you take care of your machine or have it taken care of you will get the same service out of a Chinese machine as you will a Japanese machine for less money.

And that is a FACT JACK, mine is ONE of the first that came into the country ordered TWO of them back in March of 2009. Had a few problems with the rear axle fixed them and the rest is history. You can go into my garage SUMMER OR WINTER roll the trike out from in front of my cars turn the key hit the start button jump on the sucker and away you go. All I do is change the Oils every 1000, grease the differential, Polish it up and RIDE BABY RIDE. Alleyoop

As of yesterday,I have to say that I wished that I bought a honda motorcycle or scooter rather than the POS that I did buy. I can honestly say now that I truley do not like my bike. It is a Sunny 300cc rev trike that cost me 5000.00 new in march, has less than 800 miles on it,has been ridden gently ridden, has had it's regular maintanence checks. it has been down most of the summer due to a violent shimmy and overheating that just seemed to go away by it'self this week, now It's DOWN again because of the bushings in the frame that hold the motor to the crossmember are wore out and the whole motor\wheel\tranny wag frome side to side so bad that it makes you go sideways in the curves. I'm sorry but,for five grand I want something I can drive right away and not have to TWEAK and WRENCH on until I've gotten some good wear out of it. I've noticed that on this and other forms that the same trike has given everyone that owns them similar problems. cheap shoddy parts and poor workmanship.Maybe it's just this brand but as of now I wish that I would have gotten a Japanese brand.

Wow Daddue11... you're bringin' me down. Sorry to hear about the latest on your trike. I bought mine after doing a lot of research on the web so I've been prepared for most of the trouble I've had so far... That being said, I sure am hopin' this doesn't turn to regret for me too. Good luck gettin' her fixed.

Yeah New2scootn, I just had enough, all together this summer I've spent over six grand for the bike plus maint. and this last thing almost got me killed going down a very steep river hill in an S curve, the rear tire was leaving black marks that resembled a sindwinders tracks in the sand and I barely missed the gaurd rail and I was even going 10mph under the speed limit for that curve. I then had to limp home 16 mi. at 25mph. the motor and tranny are excellent, but, nothing on that frame is safe Imo. Might even think about transplanting the motor to something else.

Yep, those REVERSE TRIKES definitely need some Manufacturer Modifications. Some are dangerous as hell. Ice Bear dropped them in a hurry due to very early complaints on the few they sold. Alleyoop

Hate to hear that daddue11. Glad you weren't injured as that sounded like a dangerous situation. I talked to a guy on youtube that had the same thing happen to his. He ended up selling his roadrunner 300 and bought a Yamaha Majesty 400. He said there is a world of difference in build quality and performance. I need to go by and check on mine. I'm kinda afraid the mechanic might just give up on it. I think I will wait another day or two before I go check in on it.

Yeah,I feel that I was lucky this time Justin,I couldn't sell it with a clear consience unless I get it fixed first. I've got my 4 other 50s if I want to ride locally. I know that I'm gonna have to take the body panels off and remove that cross bar and see if it can be fixed or a stouter one built with a heavier quality bearing system. I guess I'll just have a 6000 dollar science project to explore and learn on.
