the start button produces no noises, no turn, nothing. however when i turn the ignition the gauges move. i called the guys who sold me the bike and theyre sending one guy to get the bike. he did give me sort of weird advice though. he said i should take pictures, get insurance today, and then claim the accident tomorrow and have someone else fix it. i feel weird about that but i dont even really know what im looking at when i open it up. the manual would have been useful had it not been a literal translation from chinese. ;D ;D ;D HI & WELCOME
insurance fraud is NOW the big thing to get caught at. companies are spending lots to prosecute .
now about being a complete nooob. dont worry about it. when i got my scoot i had only done a few oil changes and changed plugs, on the mini van. not much more. heck i even stripped the threads doing a oil change. im dumb.
the best way to get confidence is to do a PDI. theres links everywhere, plus theres a ton of youtube videos take all the plastics {tuperware} off and look. check electrical connections, air & fuel lines. EVERYTHING
not sure about ur budget, but the 2 shops close to me { yea close 40+ miles} one charges $50/hr & the other charges $80/hr. so doing preventive maint. is cost effective for me to do. i AM having some probs now, but thats waiting on parts.
so good luck, keep asking questions the only dumb question is the one not asked

i agree
it may strain ur budget but if u dont ride alot , say 1/2 every day, especially if ur in a cold weather area to keep the battery charged. u need a trickle charger and a new battery
if u have a car available , u can jump ur scoot with it till u can afford a new battery.
JUST MAKE SURE THE CAR IS NOT RUNNING me, i actually disconnected the car's battery, just to be safer.

thats not a bad idea, it would not work unless both parties had a good high speed internet connection, and a very good web cam that streams at a decent rate, or else things will be blurry, laggy and make it difficult to see/help. i do like the idea though and would like to try that out some time. now how would i get my scoot to my computer to use it as a tool to show somebody how to do something.... WELL I GUESS I WAS THINKING ABOUT LAPTOPS

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO
DO NOT RELY ON YOUR KICKSTART THEY ARE VERY FLIMSY & arguably the weakest thing on your scoot.
get a new battery
if u break the kickstart it may be a easy fix, but not from what ive read.
kick starts should only be used in emergencies

greg, bring lots of new mod parts, maybe u can get her to 70 mph.
hell just to start and run again would be GREAT. i'd wouldn't even mind if i lost 5-1o mph
its just im not like u guys. i get so frustrated so fast its prob cause i really dont know what im doing plus the stress of piggers being so sick
