Well doing a valve adjustment on my JCL MP 250 with just over 1,000 miles on it when I went to remove the lower exhaust valve cover there was about 4 ounces of oil that spilled out, is this normal?

Hi everyone.
I finished my valve adjustment earlyer today, scooter runs great. I gained about 5 mph. And I hope that it cured my starting trouble, I will have to wate and see.
while I had it apart i changed the spark plog (NGK DR8EA) parts guy said that it was nothing to upgrade to? I looked at the drive belt it was in good condition so no change at this time it is a Gats Powerlink 85623. All in all not a bad job just pulling all the plastic off to get to the valve's was the hard part. about a total of 4 hrs takeing my time and with out power tool's, left mine at work.

My Jcl mp250A just turned 1,000 miles I am getting ready to adjust the valves and I would like to change the spark plug and drive belt. I would like to have them on hand before I pull it apart does any one know what spark plug and drive belt is required? I would like to upgrade so i do not want to order stock parts.
Thanks for any Help
