One of the great lessons I've learned over the past 7 years of selling and servicing China scoots is that most "Mericans" beat the living shiat out of thier scooters. My car will do well over 110MPH...but I rarely go over 70. A 150cc China scoot will do maybe 65-68....and most riders will operate at 60mph every trip, and that takes its toll.

Here's my take on the whole subject. I've been riding a scooter since 2005 and have sold them since 2008. We sold mostly Chinese scooters. Over the years we handled, Wildfire, JCL,Qlink,Linhai,Cfmoto,Zen's ( BMS,Bintelli,Puma,Wolf) Icebear from China and Lance and SYM from Taiwan.
Most of our buyers were new to scooters and chose the Chinese scooters because of their price point. A lot of those sales were spur-of-the-moment purchases and knee jerk reactions to gas price spikes. The repeat customers tended to upgrade to Taiwanese.
There really is a quality difference in the scooter world.
The best??? Hands down...Honda.
I ride a Lance/Sym.

I blame the no-good dealer that sold you those Chinese POS's.

They are sitting moldering on ships is san pedro and long beach harbors,,that were delayed in off loading because of a very long/painful dock and shore workers strike that just was resolved this week That, and the fact that the scooter market ebbs and flows. I believe that sales are ebbing. Cheap gas and tougher DMV regulations thinned the herd. Most of the quick-buck, fly by night importers have moved on or are awaiting "the next big thing".

Sym has a 50cc two-stroke...the Jet Evo, also listed with a MSRP of 1995. However it is restricted to 30 mph unless you purchase a "sport" exhaust. so figure another 200.
I've sold one and the customer is pretty happy.

This is the text of an email I got today. TGB- One of the last great 2-Strokes in America:
The 2-Stroke has been a major icon to true scooterists across the nation for over a decade. As a dying breed however, due to harder and harder to meet EPA standards and restrictions, they've become nearly extinct. But to true die-hard scooter fanatics, the 2-Stroke is not something they're willing to say goodbye too just yet.
Wolf decided that carrying a 100% Taiwanese, top of the line, 2-Stroke, wasn't a just good decision- it was a MUST.
TGB product is like no other, and will sit as a showcase scooter on your floor calling out to those who are looking for economical, reliable transportation, and power! Or maybe just a good time on one of the last, truly COOL 2-Stroke scooters of it's generation!
MSRP $1999.00
2 Year Parts and Labor Warranty!

Don't forget..... Bashan's SYM is a Citycom 300, the largest of the SYM line. SYM also makes the Lance Powersports line of scooters. In fact, in PA the Lance's come through PennDot with a SYM title.Available in 50, 125, and 150cc models. The MSRP on the 125's start at $1895. So in all reality your looking at spending maybe $500 more to get a great scooter with a two year warranty. I've sold a ton of Chinese scooters and find it perplexing that people won't pony up a few more dollars for a Taiwanese scooter.
