... to use FedEx was impressive to me as they work with each customer ... Funny story, entirely off topic, unless you consider FED EX as part of the topic... Last summer I ordered two scoots from Zongshen in Miami. Quoted price plus shipping. So far so good. Truck arrives following week and it's FED EX LTL. Didn't even know FED EX was in the LTL business. Flash forward 6 months... I get a phone call from FED EX asking for payment of $150. I ask what $150. They said that back during the summer they delivered two scooters and they came out twice to deliver but we weren't there so " It's their policy " to bill the consignee a $75 redelivery charge, times two, so they wanted $150. I said it was " my policy not to pay bullcrap charges." Turns out they came on a Monday, when we are closed, and Wednesday after we had just closed. ( As an aside, I always tell my suppliers our hours and that we need a lift-gate) Told them to go back to the shipper, Zongshen., who told them to pound sand. Do you believe FED EX turned it over to a collection agency? They got nowhere as well. Just an interesting tidbit.

I really wanted to have cheaper transportation for going the 54 miles one way back and forth to work. So that is My TOP GUN reason for the NEED FOR SPEED!!!! 54 miles one way!!! That Sure Ain't Urban

What's with all this "need for speed"?
As I tell my customers, scooters everywhere in the world are used primarily for Cheap, Economical, Urban transportation. However when they made the crossing to America something happened.
Americans first question was Cool....now can you put a bigger engine in it? Can I modify it to go faster? Can I make it sound louder?
Let's go over the parameters again:
Cheap... inexpensive, low sticker price
Economical... gas mileage in triple digits, low cost of maintenance
Urban... made for congested areas where parking is at a premium
A top speed of 60-65mph is more than enough for most modern metropolitan areas. 30-35mph is ideal for in city commuting.
I tell my customers, if you want to go fast, get crappy mileage, and spend a small fortune... the Honda, Suzuki, and Yamaha dealers are down the road to the left...the Harley dealer is down the road to the right.

You've Got A Friend in Pennsylvania! That used to be the state's marketing slogan..... not anymore! Here's the procedure to see if your scooter will pass muster here in the good ole Commonwealth. Click on : www.nhtsa.gov/cars/rules/manufacture/In the second box titled WMI, enter the first three digits of the VIN. Click on "start search" This will bring up the name of the manufacture assigned to that WMI that has supplied NHTSA with their vin decoding procedure. Scroll down to Part 565 results. Generally you want to see the record with the latest date. There you will look for the "File Name" which should be highlighted. Click on that and you will receive a pdf file with the vin decoding procedure. Look at your vin, match it up digit for digit. if it makes sense and the numbers jive EXACTLY....it's good to go in PA.
