Regulator in my 260 beside the one from my 80. Positive test lead of voltmeter on yellow wires. Using negative of voltmeter I get nothing. When reversed I get: Green 500 Black 0 Red 0

So here's the issue with the voltage. It's idling at 19v at the lights, blown every single one of them. Revving to 30v before the voltage cuts out completely, which I'm sure is the regulator giving up and shutting off. The battery voltage doesn't change at ALL ever, which makes sense because the check diodes are what regulates the voltage back to the battery and they are toast. My new ones will be here tomorrow.
NOW, that said.... "I" think the system can oscillate because I suspect one of the check diodes is tied to ground (theory). The problem here is that in a normal scoot the regulator is the only part. This one has a 2 plug regulator instead of a 1 plug, it's huge comparably in size. It has a resistor. It has 2 check diodes. I haven't been able to talk to someone familiar with this setup to help troubleshoot the overvoltage. I'd happily order a regulator if I knew that would fix it.
CHECKLIST:
Since the stator is putting out, is there ANY way it could be on the fritz and be shooting too much into the regulator?
Since the check diodes are out of the system, is there nay way it could be oscillating without them, or needing them to send the extra voltage back to the battery to complete the circuit?

They are check diodes that in series function as a regulator before looping back to the battery. They could oscillate, but I'd like more Info

The good news... Don't need a bearing. The bad, splines are causing the play. Looks like there should be a bushing on the end of the wheel and there is not. Anyone know if there was one originally? Trying to get it to stop wobbling. It's making the handling crazy. It also looks like the case is out of round but idk how that affects it because the whole axle turns so it shouldn't be touching the case, probably just a noticeable useless fact.

I'm thinking regulator, post pics of the regulator and the wires and colors. John It's the two plug regulator on 250/260s.

Thank you, I have new information. Now today I waslked outside and the dash lights, city lights, etc won't turn off. I turned the scoot off and they are still on. Is this a regulator driven circuit?

I started the 260 today and after a few seconds it died. I had to rev it to keep it going and then the dash lights went out and headlights. The city lights stayed on, oddly enough. Then I blew the headlight and 2 dash lights. I knew immediately it was spiking voltage, so I tested and sure enough almost 20 volts at the dash lights. How do I determine if it is a rectifier, resistor, or stator? Key points: - List item 1

The frame up close in the daytime. The mini ape bars are as big as my VN750's. After unbolting the front frame plate that holds everything there is still a spot for the headlight I choose to attach. It's pretty obvious this frame was intended for greater things because everything that is bolted to it unbolts to allow things to be changed out for motorcycle parts. This is no scooter frame.....

I had no idea under the skin was a DOUBLE TUBE FRAME on this 260 I just bought. I stripped it to paint it and when I got to the bottom I stood back and was like holy hell.... It's twice as thick as my motorcycle frame and low slung with perfect placement of everything PLUS it has built in foot boards! Now I'm going to design a custom seat and do deletes of the front part of the frame that bolts on and holds everything past the tree. Hide all the wires, and rock this double tube frame. For comparison here's my 750cc cruiser vs the 260cc cruiser. Such a beefy frame and perfect for this project! I'll update tomorrow with daylight pics and progress.

My rear wheel has a lot of play in it on my new 260cc. I don't have a clue what bearing to get. It's a XY260T Yamaha 257mm laydown case. What do you use?
