Thanks again guys !! it's a 2008 shanghai schenke 250cc. I'm going to try next time it gets low to fill up using the gas can & see if that happens. I was thinking maybe there is a loose wire and when the metal from the pump touches the tank mouth it shorts out. even when I get a jump it'll run until I turn it off, then it's doing the same thing until I fully charge on tender, Now once I charge it fully it cranks right up both lights blazing until I gas up again.

Thanx for the reply Silas. it has happened every single time I gas up since I bought the bike. Far as me doing all that other stuff I dont know jack didly about that stuff, but I will find someone who does & let them do it..

Does anyone know why that after I fill the gas tank my bike just shuts down, wont even start, I have to get a jump & then when I get it started only one headlight comes on until I fully charge it on my tender.

I had the shop fix them since I was fed up with not riding my bike for a few days.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Just to keep everyone up to date I finally got my hids working. I just took it to a shop and let them play with it so I can ride in the wind most possible. thanks for all the feedback.

Hello everyone here on scooter doc ! I am a new member & have a 2008 shanghai shenke 250cc & a 2009 honda metropolitan 50cc. I recently bought my shenke a few months ago and been in love with riding it around town, I added led strips under the bike for night riding, no problems yet with the bike except with the hid lighting system I had installed. I purchased my honda last year with 12 miles on it here in Syracuse NY and since only put about 100 miles it. I definitley love my 250cc way better. if anyone has a question that I can help out with will be more than glad to, if I cant answer it I can help find the answer and post it or inbox it to you. thanx Attachments:

looks great ! I recently had hid lights installed on my scooter also but mines keep draining the battery or the lights shut down, is there a special piece I need to add so this doesnt happen ? Attachments:

Welcome to the site I am new as well. I have same bike but different name, mines is a 08 shanghai shenke. these bikes run very well if you keep up on them, currently I am having problems with the hid lights I had installed but other than that all good, make sure you do a gear oil change & regular oil change before riding to much. hello to all you scooter lovers, as you probably can see I am new to this site & will be needing some guidance with my scooter & also give some advice If possible.
