Ok, so the green and black DO NOT PLUG IN since the black is a 12volt POWER WIRE that used to power something???
Once you get the switchs in and ready then we can start the motor and find out works and what does not work. Now SINCE that BLACK wire has power something like the HORN, FUEL GAUGE, AMP METER if it has one would be powered by the battery with the KEY ON.
So FOR NOW WE CAN MOVE ON. Alleyoop

Have you tested the battery just sitting there should register at least 12.5. If it registers under that charge the battery first. Also what is it 50cc or 150cc etc and what motor does it have. The hard starting is most likely valves and fuel delivery problem. Has it been sitting not started for a long time or did this just happen. Alleyoop

If you could take some pictures of it left side and right side. Also get the motor number off the old motor, important things to make sure it would go on would be the motor mounts measure across and front to back to make sure the motor mounts will line up with the frame mounts. Supposedly the motor is the same as in the VESPAs. Another thing to look at is the wiring from the STATOR to match the 2007 wiring .
How about a link to the motor on ebay so we can check it out. Alleyoop

See if you can check that black wire see where it goes the green might plug into it. Black on scoots also may be ground also they can carry voltage. Alleyoop

Key On killwire not connected to anything should not be continuity, so -#s are good if it had continuiity we would be in trouble continuity reads like so 0.# etc Yes, we have to be able to KILL THE MOTOR ONCE IT STARTS.

I think G-1 is from the KEY SWITCH, if key is on that green should not be grounded only if KEY OFF.

Glad I was able to help you get that scoot up and running.
Check your oil and see if it has water in it if not then you get away without changing the oil seal.

Does this looks like yours? notice he pushs the switch to the LEFT to START IT. That unmated GREEN GROUND wire might be the culprit. So look really good for a connector. I have looked at a lot of the RIGHT HAND SWITCHS and so far ALL OF THEM - You Move the Switch to the LEFT TO START move the switch to the RIGHT TO KILL motor. So I think you got the wrong switch if LEFT IS KILL and right is RUN. Which means use the OLD ONE if it works. Those who do not know, do not know that they do not know.

The Speedometer is connected to the front wheel SO ONLY WHEN the front wheel turns does the speedometer work. On the Fuel Gauge when did it work? How long has the scooter been broke and or not working? If the scoot has been sitting not working for months or years most likely the float has disintegrated and you might need a new float sensor system.
